Elk Grove Teen loses 45lbs and GAINS tremendous confidence! 15 year old Christian Battaglia had never heard of Muay Thai. This Elk Grove 10th grader certainly had no interest in training in it. Like many other teens he lacked self confidence and self esteem. He was overweight, felt that he wasn’t athletic and was very self conscientious. Then he and his family discovered VALOR. He came in and trained. And then trained more. ... His technique, form and skill improved tremendously. Suddenly, as he realized that he COULD excel in something and his confidence rose, and rose and continues to rise! Pre-Covid training: CLINCH. The Muay Thai Clinch is stand up grappling at its finest. Yes, many if not most physical altercations dan end up on the groundbut 99% happens in the clinch range. Knowing how to work within the clinch range is absolutely essential. Where in western boxing it’s and opportunity to rest, stall or slow down your opponentthe Muay Thai clinch is where the action can really happen. This is the range where knees, elbows, sweeps and dumps occur! At VALOR Training Center we practice the Traditional Thai approach to the clinch which is controlled and methodical and allows the practioner to feel his/her opponent’s energy to capitalize on opportunities. On the cover of the Bangkok Post! VALOR Training Center athletes have competed-and WON all over the WORLD! What we teach is RING TESTED and RING PROVEN! 2 years ago today VALOR Training Center Athlete Cesar Lazalde is featured in the Bangkok Post as he fought 5 competitors from around the globe at the IFMA Youth Muaythai World Championships in Thailand. Cesar earned the Team MVP award for the United States for his performance. The 2018 was the Dream Team of the USA earning the most Gold and Silver medal in history! The Team got so much attention that the tournament awarded the USA Team: Beat Team award! Out of 110 countries, that was an incredible feat!!!
