Lake Tahoe's north shore is known for its small and tiny upscale towns: Tahoe City, Dollar Point, Carnelian Bay, Tahoe Vista, Kings Beach, Crystal Bay, and Incline Village. Incline Village definitely lives up to its name as the town lies on an upward slope from Lakeshore Drive to Diamond Peak ...Ski Resort. Locals and tourists enjoy the beaches, ski resorts, golf course, boating, and trails that reach Tahoe City/Truckee and Spooner Lake. Many great eateries and retail shops occupy the town's shopping villages. This is my favorite part of Incline---the fabulous new East Shore Trail that begins on the outskirts of Incline to Sand Harbor (swipe right to see second photo). Here you can walk, run, and ride your bike while facing spectacular lake views. Truckee, California is nearby north Lake Tahoe and Donner Lake. Truckee is well known for its Old West history, the Emigrant Trail, and tragic expedition of the Donner Party. Modern days has turned Truckee into a thriving charming mountain town. There are so many fun year-round activiti...es to do such as biking and rafting along the Truckee River, skiing at nearby resorts, shopping and dining downtown, mingling at it’s famous summer event @truckeethursdays, hiking, rock climbing, walking, camping, horseback riding, etc. in every direction, and much more. On a personal note (second photo), this was my father's favorite bike trail. My parents and I used to love bike riding on the Truckee River trail during the colorful autumn season. In these challenging difficult times, cheering up and/or thanking someone is one of the best thoughtful gestures you can do for them and yourselves. It could be surprising the recipient(s) with a gift, a greeting card, a photo, sharing a memory or doing a random act of kindness, etc. Last week, e & m created and sent this new pillow style to a Southern California friend, "BD", as a thank you gift. A lot of creative thought went into this design idea. The idea was to connect ..."BD" to favorite places on Thompson Lake, Maine - her mother's home and the summer camp she attended as a child. One pillow cover side reflects the summer camp's coordinates and primary color; the other side is her mom's home coordinates and the camp’s other color. (For privacy purposes, e & m created another pillow for these IG photos using central Thompson Lake's coordinates). e & m also expressed her gratitude with a photo notecard of Thompson Lake's spectacular autumn colors captured from her mother's dock last fall. BD was so surprised and really appreciated the thoughtful gift. Her thankful text messages and photo of her adorable dog cheered e & m up too during a tough day. Life seems like it's in a standstill. While being temporarily limited during this COVID-19 pandemic, we are trying to hold on to some of our daily normal activities. We all must do our share to flatten the curve by practicing social distancing/sheltering in place. In the meantime, I know most of us love our coffee at home or from a local coffee place. For me, it is the daily large iced coffee. While we lived in a Tuscany villa last summer, my friend Popi taught me how to ma...ke delicious iced coffee using four simple ingredients. 1) Coffee brew - can be cold brewed or hot coffee (but wait until it cools down) or save the brewed coffee from the day before by refrigerating it. - 2 cups 2) Sugar - a teaspoon or two 3) Milk, half/half or creamer - a splash or two Put all of these ingredients in the jar with a lid or in a martini shaker. Shake the jar or martini shaker until the liquid is foamy. Pour over ice in a glass. Enjoy.
