2021-03-20 Elite Toastmasters Virtual Meeting. The theme of this meeting was Taxes! Many of the members must have been worn out from trying to get them completed early. Elite Toastmasters is an advanced group comprised of experienced speakers who give thoughtful, constructive evaluations in a supportive setting to help you achieve a higher level of competency. 2021-02-20 Elite Toastmasters Virtual Meeting. For this meeting, we had an amazing guest speaker!! We were honored to host a Mini-Comedy Workshop expertly provided by the Kirkland Tibbels!! Kirkland is known for his humorous public speaking. Most people don’t know that Kirkland spent 3 years as a stand-up comic in the early 80s, and has studied at Chicago’s famed Second City as well as having trained and performed regularly at the ImprovOlympic in Chicago and Los Angeles bef...ore turning his attention to motion picture and television production. Kirkland was AMAZING!!! We learned a lot of practical information about writing comedy for the purpose of speaking. A key take-away is: "keenly observe life and tell the truth from your personal perspective." Kirkland's speech was followed by 12 Table Topics speakers who were each evaluated, a unique feature of Elite Toastmasters. 2021-02-06 Elite Toastmasters Virtual Meeting. We were honored to have Caroline Doll, Area B1 Director as our guest for the meeting today. Danny Lai was the Toastmaster of the Day. We had two great speakers: Speaker 1: Brenda O'Brien, who shared a beautiful and inspiring story covering an entire lifetime in 8 minutes! Speaker 2: Gail Taylor-Smith, talked about the mentors that made a difference. Liz Brenner led a creative Table Topics session where she asked the speakers to fill in the blank and complete the story. It was a lot of fun! 2021-01-16 Elite Toastmasters virtual meeting. Wow! What a meeting!! We were fortunate and grateful to have D33 District Director Joseph Skoda and D33 Administration Manager V. Phelps as honored guests. They zoomed in after the D33 TLI Officer Training session held Saturday morning. Toastmaster of the Day was Brenda O'Brien with a meeting theme of "Dreams".
