The Back Leg Challenge! Challenging the back leg to support body during movement while reaching balance point. Then it’s time to focus on back leg drive and throwing arm drawback. Good timing will allow weight transfer and compression on foot strike. This student was also trying to develop front leg SnapBack on release and catching his balance on finish. He is early in the pitching mechanics phase but progressing nicely.

A good example of upper body rotation to enhance compression. The Student on the left upper body rotation is soft, upright and around. Student on right tries to copy with his upper body exactly what front foot is doing. Striding sideways and then rotating to land. There will be a delay on body rotation and compression since lead leg is leading and ahead. Upper body will rotate towards front knee and foot.
