Here are his thoughts on self tapes. #elev8agency #elev8 Casting Directors will always take a look at a self tape - why not, they might find someone special - but be smart about it: - Do not password protect it - make it easy - click and watch. Use YouTube, Vimeo, etc.... - Do not send a video file that the CD has to download to watch - takes to much time - it might not be seen. - If you have a few scenes to do - put the most powerful scene first - the order doesn’t matter - you want to grab the CD’s attention. - Quality is very important 1) Shoot on High Def 2) Use a lavalier microphone - don’t use the mic on the camera. - Readers 1) If you have a good reader make sure they can be heard, but not so loud that it drowns you out or dominates the scenes. 2) If you have a bad reader, better that they can hardly be heard - your voice should ring true.
