Hello all, I'm a certified Doula and Birthing From Within childbirth educator since 2002. I am furloughed right now from my usual job and have created some of my learning modules online to share with pregnant couples. I wondered if you might be interested in signing up or sharing with someone who may be interested in some extra support during this time of Shelter In Place. It will be helpful for participants in each workshop to have some type of art supplies, paints and wat...er color paper work best, but even just printer paper and crayons or colored pens/pencils are ok too. I've really had fun creating these workshops on a new medium online, I hope that you can join me. Mendy www.elementsofmagic.com 650-400-1307 Birth as a Labyrinth: Saturday May 2nd: 4-5pm Zoom $30 The ancient labyrinth has been used for centuries as a tool for meditation, guidance, and metaphor. We will use this tool as a preparation for labor and birth. Only recently in our culture has birth become a timed, controlled and graphed event. The labyrinth's patterns of seemingly endless twists and turns, into the center and out again give us a more realistic feel and understanding of the timelessness of labor. What tools do we have internally and externally to prepare for the more circular way of labor and birth? If "labor has it's own clock", what clues does your body give to know what "time" it is? In this session you'll have the chance to experience a labyrinth and create one for your own personal use. Register for workshop here: https://elements-of-magic.cheddarup.com Creating a Space that will help me Open: Saturday May 9th 4-5pm Zoom $30 Creating a Birth Plan has become a big part of Childbirth preparation in recent years. Birth plans in general are statements creating and outlining our preferences that will help us 'open' in childbirth, by creating a 'safe' state of mind. In this session you will learn ways to Mobilize emotional and environmental support for your birth space. You will create a 'Birth Plan' of sorts through art exploration. Learning about the basic physiology of 'Opening' in birth, will support the understanding of birth physiology, and then, help us prepare our emotions and environment. Explore Attitudes, Habits and Beliefs; ours and those in our birth space to understand how they may effect our labor. Register for workshop here: https://elements-of-magic.cheddarup.com --

I’m not surprised this commercial wasn’t shown. It’s way too real for our societies need for distraction. Too bad, it’s a really good representation for new moms to see. I wonder though about seeing the new products and and how they help- https://www.health.com//frida-mom-commercial-banned-oscars

Great article, and- it’s just the tip of the iceberg... I wonder if as moms/parents we’re actually quite forced into the ideas of sleep training out if necessity because of pressures of work and need to get our own sound sleep to be fresh for making the money to support ourselves and our families.... and down the rabbit hole....
