We all know what we "should/could/would" be doing to help us live our most vibrant, fulfilled life, so why don't we do it? Why is it so hard to stop drinking that glass of wine at night or to put down that cookie? Why don't we make movement a pivotal part of our lives? Why don't we take time each day to sit in reverence with ourselves? We know these things would make us feel good, yet it is hard to make it happen. It's hard because making these changes means looking deeper...... it means looking at why we choose these habits in the first place. Sure we can change things for a duration... maybe it's a day, a week or even a year, but many times they come back. They sneak back in without warning and we find ourselves right back where we were... putting our well-being on the back burner... fighting to keep the "shoulds" in place. Through my own journey I've realized that it doesn't have to be a struggle to do what's best for your well-being when the changes are made from the inside out. Yes it can be uncomfortable and yes it's not always pretty, but when these changes are made... when you can follow what your body and intuition is telling you... it becomes effortless. Making these changes, leaning into the discomfort and looking at the deeper why behind my choices has helped me find peace in a rather chaotic world. It has helped me find faith in even the most uncertain times and has helped me keep my joy when things seem rather dim. Making this full commitment to my well-being has been the reason I've actually had one of the best years of my life despite what the world may seem. This is an ever evolving journey I find myself on and it's my passion to have more people join me. I deeply feel that the more we each focus on our own individual healing, the more we can change the outer hurt we see surrounding us all. Hey EBB community! My name is Dr. Cory Sellers and I wanted to introduce myself. I recently moved to this beautiful area from Orlando Florida with my wife in hopes of pursuing a dream of working as a chiropractor to help people heal and function at their full potential. ... My journey as a chiropractor began years ago as a collegiate hockey player. As many of you know, athletics takes a hefty toll on the body, therefore it was extremely important to take care of myself physically and mentally. Chiropractic, as well as living a healthy lifestyle, facilitated my ability to perform at my best not only in athletics but throughout my life as well. While attending Iowa State University, I came to the conclusion that I wanted to pursue Chiropractic as a profession. My majors of Kinesiology and Exercise Science, gave me the realization that I could help people with their functional goals regardless of age or activity level. Upon graduating I enrolled in Chiropractic School back in my home state of Florida to pursue my Doctorate in Chiropractic. Following graduation I spent some time working in Orlando which helped solidify why I chose this amazing profession. I was able to see people heal from injuries that had been nagging them for long periods of time as well as watch others take control of their lives. It truly has been a blessing. As we are all aware, 2020 has been an interesting year. My wife (who is currently a Canadian Citizen working on immigration while this whole mess is going on) and I needed change as we navigated through this year. We were fortunate enough to meet the staff at Elemental Back and Body - who have been great and provided us with a once in a lifetime opportunity to move to the Truckee area. We decided to take the leap of faith and move across the country. Let me tell you, what a great experience it has been so far! This town, from the incredible landscape to the people we have met, have been nothing short of amazing and welcoming. I am very excited to be a part of the EBB team and work with each of you.
