Every year for 16 years AIM SO CAL and BICONA have held a benefit concert to raise money to pay for propane for the people of Pine Ridge reservation to keep the...m from freezing to death in the brutal winters! this year due to quarantines because of the covid-19 virus this was not possible...but the need remains! Recently Rod Selva and I have posted a few photos of Central American examples of the Spanish Colonia Revival, many with the late Art Deco flair that many build...ings in Central America had in the 1940s and 1950s. Here is the old airport in San Salvador built on the shores of the volcanic crater lake, Lago de Ilopango in the 1940s. The architect was one of El Salvador's best, Armando Sol. Sadly, it was badly remodeled in the 1960s, but its beautiful interior remains intact. It is now an aeronautical museum as a new airport was built along the coast in the late 1970s. See more
