Transgender Day of Remembrance 11/20/2020 2020 is on pace to be the deadliest in recent years for the transgender and gender non-conforming community... #transgender ... #translivesmatter #transawarenessweek https://www.google.com//transgender-day-of-remembrance-de/

Allies are family - without allies we regress, not progress

I am at max capacity and will not consider any new referrals until January of 2021. I have to set limits and boundaries to preserve my own self-care and provide the best treatment possible to my patients

It’s a challenge right now to manage maintaining healthy boundaries while having a voice that makes a difference. I will not silence myself to appease someone’s comfort - especially if that comfort is rooted in #whitefragility The difference between a moment and a movement is sacrifice. I am willing to sacrifice friends and/or family to be authentic and voice my truth. Boundaries and discomfort are part of how we make progress and achieve continual growth. #blacklivesmat...ter #blm #blackmentalhealth #intergenerationaltrauma #heal #blackbusinessowner #blackwallstreet #blackentrepreneur See more

I’ve been thinking carefully for a few days about what to say on social media. I want to be a voice for mental health services, for the people I am in service to and for my community as a whole. It’s been a very rough week for my patients, who are almost all ethnic minorities and already struggling with their own stability as they learn and grow in treatment. I am here as a source of support while things feel so helpless and we feel so powerless. I want us to feel empowered in our support for each other, our empathy, our awareness and our ability to help lift each other up. Reach out to me if you need to talk. I am here sharing your anger, sadness and fear. @ San Diego, California

Physical distancing does not have to mean social distancing. I definitely don’t want it to mean that we don’t connect. Clinicians like myself are still providing services via video or phone. I am also offering a sliding scale for any person/family/couple who needs it. Take advantage of this extra time/space to practice self-care by seeking therapy. #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealthmatters #therapy #blackgirlmagic #therapyforblackgirls #therapyforblackmen #selfcare #health #affordabletherapy

I have a deep passion for helping people achieve and sustain healthy relationships. This is my specialty and I do so by exploring family of origin issues that have been rooted in dysfunction, thus impeding healthy relationship achievement in adulthood. If you have a pattern of dysfunctional adult relationships, let’s take a look at your foundation and explore ways in which to heal, break old patterns and develop the insight/awareness to attract in and be attracted to healthier people. #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #therapyforblackgirls #therapyforblackmen #heal #blacktherapist #valentinesday2020 #blackhistorymonth #therapy

A lot of this is true for me, especially as a therapist who really cares about the work and the well being of my patients. The work continues outside of the office in several ways.

The most disrespected person in America is the black woman. The most unprotected person in America is the black woman. The most neglected person in America is the black woman. Malcom X Let’s break the cycles of disenfranchisement by treating ourselves better than society has treated us. Let’s heal

One of my favorite quotes from Eckhart and a reminder to stay present as often as possible. Now is all we have
