U.S. Highway 50 Camino Safety Project: The Camino Safety Project proposes to improve safety on U.S. Highway 50 (US 50) in the Camino corridor by installing a concrete median barrier, widening shoulders, constructing acceleration/deceleration lanes, constructing an undercrossing, providing access to the undercrossing from local roads, repairing culverts, and constructing a wildlife crossing under the highway. The project is in El Dorado County on US 50 from the Mosquito Road U...ndercrossing to the Schnell School Road Undercrossing and from 0.2 miles west of Still Meadow Road to 0.2 miles east of Carson Road, post miles (PMs) 18.5 to 24.2. Construction on this $55.4 million project started in August 2020 and is expected to be completed by December 2022. See layout plan attached.
