What a phenomenal event! Thank you to all--Great Speakers, Great Vendors and Great Information. Look for Summit 2014 Details coming soon
Plenty of free parking is available right at the Aspiration Dome. The agenda allows for plenty of time to meet and interact with the speakers.
Just a few days to go! The presentations are amazing! Be sure to bring plenty of business cards as there is will be a wide range of companies and agencies attending.
When the next big earthquake hits, what will your employees do? If they are at home, will they come to work? If they are at work, will they head home?
Several Summit speakers will cover Earthquake Damage Reduction. David Silberman from Stanford School of Medicine will share his approach to keeping the facility open following a major earthquake, a seemingly difficult task in an ever-changing environment.
Today's powerful earthquake created a new Island!
A third summit topic, and feature of the Keynote Address will be "Experiential Data". What if you collected the data from more than 100 earthquakes around the world and used it to determine how best to prepare for an earthquake? That's what Peter Yanev has done--and he will share insights at the summit.
Another summit topic will be: Engineered Resiliency You will learn how building codes, fire codes and retrofit mandates have created a new Earthquake Damage Prevention industry. How do you chose the best method for ensuring your business stays open after an earthquake?
You will hear several new terms at the Earthquake 2013 Summit. As an example, rather than subjects such as "emergency preparedness" and "recovery planning", you'll hear specifics such as "Earthquake Damage Prevention". You'll learn what the problem is, what the law says, and what you can do."
The countdown to the summit has begun! Three weeks to go. Feel free to encourage all you know to register for this first-of-its-kind event. DID YOU KNOW? More than 50% of all businesses that shut down in the Northridge Earthquake in 1994 never reopened? Dr. Jack Boatwright from the USGS, a speaker at the Earthquake 2013 Summit, told me this week that there were pockets of ghost towns throughout the LA area after the quake, businesses abandoned and people who moved out to areas where they could get the services they needed.
We are less than one month away from the San Francisco Bay Area "Earthquake 2013 Business Preparedness Summit." Don't forget to sign-up this weekend!
Please take a moment of silence sometime today to remember and honor those we lost. #neverforget
