Dear families, welcome to ESM Winter semester.
"In a recent study, scientists reveal further evidence supporting this brain-building tactic. Learning music early in life actually makes the brain more connected, inducing neural plasticity capable of improving neurological capabilities beyond music.........." https://www.inverse.com//how-music-changes-the-brain-study
Wow, that's a HUGE jingle bell set! I am sure that giant jingle bell set is really heavy. https://youtu.be/WCLavUoX7Sc
This post is not about parenting, but for grownups who love Miyazaki's creative animations and gave us a lot of great childhood memories. Well, I shouldn't say that. This post is also about giving our children an unlimited creativity in art as well as in music. I am a fan of Hayao Miyazaki because I really love his creativity and I highly recommend all parents to show Hayao Miyazaki's animations to your little one. Who is Hayao Miyazaki? He is the most genius Japanese fi...lm director who created Totoro, Ponyo, Castle In The Sky and more animations. Today, here comes four series of documentaries of Hayao Miyazaki. Those 4 series have different language subtitles, including English. By the way, Totoro was the first "VHS" I bought LONG LONG LONG LONG TIME ago. If you know what "VHS" is, that means you and I are the same generation! hahaha . 01: Ep. 1 Ponyo Is Here https://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/en/ondemand/video/3004569/ 02: Ep. 2 Drawing What's Real https://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/en/ondemand/video/3004581/ 03: Ep. 3 Go Ahead - Threaten Me https://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/en/ondemand/video/3004593/ 04: Ep. 4 No Cheap Excuses https://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/en/ondemand/video/3004594/ See more

It's the time for the Halloween season!
Bongo Cat! This is an interactive play on the computer. Very cute and fun to play. It will be more fun if you have a typing keyboard to play with. Follow the key (typing) instruction on the top. Enjoy! https://bongo.cat/
I know kids all love something shiny! Especially during the Halloween season, there are many costumes having glitters/Eco glitter all around. Maybe, it's time for us to think deeply about how glitter/Eco glitter affects our environment? https://www.theguardian.com//eco-glitter-causes-same-damag
Today noon (10/2. 12 PM. PST), A body percussion performing group form Malaga (Spain) is going to LIVE Streaming one of their show "CAMBUYÓN". Don't miss it and watch it with your children. Hotaru Koi (1987) Hotaru Koi (Ho, Firefly), is a popular Japanese children’s folk song. The Japanese word for a firefly is hotaru. They have been a metaphor for passionate love in poetry since Man’you-shu (8th century). Their eerie lights are also thought to be the altered form of the souls of soldiers who have died in war. A traditional Japanese folk song, Hotaru Koi is thought to have originated in Akita prefecture in the northern part of Japan. This Fall, Music Together ...adopted this song and collected in the Bongos collection. Now, let's sing it together with teacher Vita and her magic box. There are many story time resources online, one of my favorite is from Oregon Symphony. They created high quality story time for pre-K through elementary aged children and their families to experience popular story books. Each episode is entertaining and educational, and includes a great children’s story narrated by a master storyteller, with accompaniment by an Oregon Symphony musician or guest artist, performing the book’s soundtrack. All 13 episodes are now available, for free. Don't forget to check it out! https://www.orsymphony.org//watch-lis/symphony-storytime/
