I wanted to test some of the abilities of my printer so I drew up this little retracting arm smart phone case with interacting parts. All parts were made on an extruder style 3D printer. It's only has a small RC servo in it to illustrate motion (works best without a heavy phone right now). #3dprinting #phonecase #unfolding #iphone #iphone6 #bionic #motion #mechanical #engineering #printed #plastic #robotics #hand #fabrication #dtd #cad #model #gear #movement #future #reach #flashforge #drafting #machine

Here's Chaz and I moving like worker ants to get this column vertical. At around 900 lbs a piece, these beams act to reinforce a preformed concrete wall that is being cut to fit two 12 ft roll up doors. 4 base plate anchor bolts, 1/4 X 6 in fillet weld and 32 stronghold epoxied all-thread studs work together to support the roof and prevent the degradation of the concrete wall in the event of a strong earthquake. To place the columns, an expanding jig equipped with a 1 ton ele...ctric hoist was bolted up between 2 rafters and screw-jack legs were placed underneath for extra weight support. We're retrofitting 2 buildings for 5 doors altogether!! A pat on the back to my Dad Randy and my buddy Chaz for conducting a very smooth operation so far. #fabrication #welding #retrofit #earthquake #reinforcement #heavy #columbs #hardwork #cutout #beam #safteyfirst #bettersafethansorry #DTD See more
