I had a regular at my shop before I transferred to a new state. I was linebusting on one of my first days and her mouth dropped open when she saw me... Of course I made it my mission to get to know her story because it was such a unique interaction. It came out that I looked exactly like someone in her life who had passed away and that when she saw me she felt like that person was still with her. Every time she came through after, I asked questions about the young girl, her ...interests, etc. so she could share happy and fun stories to try to brighten up the pain associated with the loss. Long story short, she added me on social media and now we send holiday gifts, photos of our puppies, etc.! She knows I’m obsessed with dogs, so when she got her puppy, her first stop was Dutch so I could meet him. Then, on my birthday, she brought her dogs through wearing Happy Birthday headbands and hats for me with balloons and a gift. It feels like I gained an aunt and I’m so thankful!
