Philly (PA) Share to FacebookShare to Twitter (12/20, Wood) reports Warby Parker announced it has suffered a cybersecurity breach that may have affected up to 198,000 customers. The article adds that hackers accessed customer usernames and passwords from unrelated cyber break-ins at other companies, according to a Warby Parker news release, and then the hackers then used that information to try to gain unauthorized access to client data at several Internet retailers, including Warby Parker.

Something to think about if you wear soft contact lenses: American Opotemeric Assn. Comments On Reports Of Pollution From Contact Lenses. CBS News reports researchers studying what happens to contact lenses when they are thrown away concluded that, by their estimates, between six and 10 metric tons of plastic lenses are ending up in U.S. wastewater plants every year, adding to the problem of micro-plastics in oceans, lakes and even commercial bottled water. The American Optometric Association recommends that patients recycle their contact lenses (and contact cases, boxes and solution) if they live in an area that allows for it. The AOA said in a statement, The regular garbage is the second option. Down the sink drain or toilet is never recommended and is discouraged due to the impact on our environment.
