we have a power outage in our area right now. we'll keep you updated.

Dr Bradshaw, Internal Medicine 13.02.2021

Dear Patients, The office is closed this week as a staff member contracted COVID. She is doing ok so far but out of concerns for the rest of my staff and my patients we are closed. On Thursday we will all get rapid tested and any staff negative can report back to work Friday. And in keeping with the whole 2020 theme, I cannot access any of your records for us to call patients and notify them or to even see what prescription refills are needed, as our host server (as in the ...big servers that host multiple companies) detected an attempt to hack into their firewalls Friday afternoon and per protocol an entire nationwide shut down for that host server was immediately initiated. In addition to the host server firewalls we have redundant firewalls for protecting your information and have been reassured no medical offices' were successfully hacked into. They cannot give as a definitive time line on going live again, we are being told 1 to a few days. Rest assured I am checking remotely (from my quarantine quarters) several times a day and as soon as they are back up I will be doing refills and Renee will have remote access as well to enter referrals and take my lab messages. We apologize for the delay in our service to you as your well-being is of my utmost concern. On a note about covid... ITS BAD FRIENDS, the numbers are out of control, St. Mary's in Apple Valley is critically overloaded and the national guard is trying to send tents and personal to help. Redlands hospital has activated their surge plan as covid admits has tripled and backup units have been converted. Redlands Yucaipa Medical Group has been activated in the coverage for hospital admits meaning we are reaching critical levels. I will likely be called in to work a 70 plus hour week there in the next few weeks so we will keep you posted on that situation as it unfolds. Please, stay in your homes and own yards as much as possible. Limit your time out and only go out for real necessities. DO NOT GATHER FOR CHRISTMAS. MISSING one Christmas with family and friends outside of your household helps insure you will have many more holidays in the future with them once the vaccine is available. I do not want to sign your death certificate as CAUSE of death COVID 19. Be diligent, hang in there, we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. If you have been exposed by someone that tested positive for covid or you're having symptoms please click on the link below to schedule an appointment. If you tested positive for covid please quarantine yourself for 14 days and get re tested before coming out the house. Make sure you're quarantine in a room and hopefully have your own bathroom. Use paper plates and plastic utensils to eat. https://sb.fulgentgenetics.com/appointment/screen/symptoms This is to just notify patients not to answer any questions as I don't have any access to your charts at this time. Dear Patients, I wanted to keep all of my patients updated on the current COVID-19 situation in our city and county. There is a significant rising crisis with Yucaipa having the second highest positivity rate of community acquired COVID-19 in the county of San Bernardino with a positivity rate of 12%. In only the past 10 days, the city of Yucaipa has experienced a greater than 17% increase in the number of diagnosed COVID-19 cases. These cases are community acquired and not ...associated with nursing homes. This was of course completely expected as people chose to not wear face masks when going to grocery stores, gatherings, etc. and we are now seeing the consequences of these poor choices and the increase positivity rate here in the city. Be advised as of 06/18/20 the state of California is now mandating face masks again whenever people are entering public places, including all grocery stores, shopping areas, etc. We will keep you further updated as we receive updates. If you feel that you or family members are infected please call us. See more

These cases are all community acquired and not nursing home related. I’m urging you all to please stress the importance of hand hygiene, wearing gloves, and masks. If you develop any symptoms please contact my office and we can discuss the screening process.

COVID 19 YUCAIPA TESTING Dear Patients, Just an update, I expect the next 2-3 weeks in our area to be the most critical time. So shelter in place and try to avoid going to the grocery store. If you must go to the store, please be as cautious as possible; with protected facial wear, gloves, and sanitation wipes etc. San Bernardino County has issued a mandatory facial covering whenever outside your home even when walking your pet, exercising, and driving. The majority of cases ...in our county remain in individuals 18-49 years of age but we have had cases ranging from very young children to obviously the elderly. We continue to have non essential businesses that are not compliant with the mandatory shut down and I continue to encourage you to report them to the San Bernardino County Public Health hotline at 909-387-3911. Politicians are entitled to their non-medical opinions, but the threat from COVID-19 is real, it is not a hoax, it is not a political way to try to destroy the economy. Medical crises and recommendations need to be left up to the medical professionals. I can assure each and every one of you that this disease is more than 10 times fatal than influenza and poses a risk to every single human being. I personally know frontline Physicians, Physical Therapists and Occupational Therapists fighting for there lives and I ask that everyone respect Governor Newsom’s stay at home orders and mandates, these are meant to help protect yourselves, your family, and your loved ones. The city of Yucaipa, in conjunction with San Bernardino County Public health, is planning a drive through testing for our city residents that are symptomatic. It is to be scheduled for this Saturday, weather permitting. As San Bernardino County’s most affected city I realize that everyone would like to get tested, however at this time we need to reserve those tests for the symptomatic and the front line personnel that are in quarantine so that we may try to get those front line workers cleared and back to work. Testing will be Sat, April 11, 2020 10 am 1pm. No appointments necessary, staff will determine if you qualify or not when they screen you, this will be held at Crafton College. Enter testing area via Yucaipa Blvd and Sand Canyon Rd, you must proceed to the testing area with your windows rolled up and follow instructions given. You may go to www.yucaipa.org for information as well. Sincerely, Dr Bradshaw

NON ESSENTIAL BUSINESSES I have been in touch with the San Bernardino County Supervisor and here is the following information on how you report non compliant businesses. Call Joint Information Center #909-387-3911 for reporting non essential businesses still operating. The county supervisor as well as I urge you to report these businesses because it takes two complaints before law enforcement becomes involved. We have 18 confirmed cases in the city of Yucaipa with multiple mo...re pending. For those of you that are concerned Cedar Mountain Nursing home is not one of the facilities that I attend. Further precautions that I recommend, whoever in your household that continues to work or is in charge of going to the stores- leave their shoes outside the door because our shoes can track the virus into our homes. Furthermore said individuals should immediately shower including washing their hair and put on clean clothing. Everyone shelter as much as possible. Stay safe. See more

Good afternoon, I hope that this finds everyone is safe. As you all know I have been trying to post updated information in real time. What you may have seen on facebook is indeed true. We have a minimum of 12 confirmed cases in the city of Yucaipa in a local nursing home. This means that every visitor and employee has been exposed, so you can believe that the number of positive patients is far greater than 12. I was on the phone with City Hall this morning as well as the sher...iff department regarding the fact that many businesses in Yucaipa are in violation of the state mandated shut down order, as these businesses are not exempt essential businesses. I've requested the sheriffs intervention, the department of public health has been notified, and I have also sent out an email communication to governor Newsom's office requesting immediate assistance. Any of you that finds these non essential businesses open needs to contact the local sheriffs department. Please forward this to your friends and family. I will provide further updates. See more

UPDATE ON THE PATIENT PORTAL The new patient portal is being set up and will hopefully finalize and be available early next week. For those with existing portal accounts or who have a valid email address on file you will receive an email inviting you to log into the new site. At this time I am not certain how exactly the email will read but it will either state from Tonda Bradshaw’s office or from an email address with the word updox in it. Those emails may go out sometime ...over the weekend or early next week. We will also be sending out an email with instructions of sorts on how to navigate the new portal. Please bear with us during these changes as we are learning the new system as well and will keep you updated as we have the information. Thank you Dr. Bradshaw
