Detoxing wildfire smoke: If you are living in California, Oregon or Washington then you can see and smell how these states are burning up. Inhaling this smoke can cause fatigue, coughing, shortness of breath and wheezing, asthma attack, burning eyes, runny nose, scratchy throat, irritated and inflamed sinuses, headaches, chest pain and fast heartbeat. So how do we stay safe during this season?... Use an Air HEPA Filter! My favorite brand is IQAir Drink lots of water! More than you think!! At least half your body weight in ounces! Eat a well balanced diet! Make sure to eat the rainbow in vegetables of course to give you antioxidant support. Eat cruciferous vegetables to help the liver detoxify these toxins! Eye and Sinus Rinses: Use natural eye rinses by companies such as Similasin to get rid of any particulates in the eyes that may be causing irritation. Nasal/Sinus rinses can also help relieve nasal/sinus irritation from smoke inhalation. Daily Neti Pot sinus rinses with saline solution also work well. Epsom Salt baths to help detox these toxins out the skin! My favorite supplements include Vitamin C, N-Acetyl-Cysteine an Glutathione Steam inhalations with essential oils such as rosemary, eucalyptus, thyme or peppermint. Some people are more prone to symptoms related to wildfire smoke inhalation. These people include older adults, pregnant women, children, and folks with pre existing respiratory (such as asthma) and heart conditions (such as high blood pressure). If you are heavily affected by these fires, please reach out and we can work together on getting you on the right protocol to help and protect your body from the toxins from the fires! See more

FSH lab result and fertility: FSH is a hormone that signals and stimulates your ovaries to develop follicles. A high FSH usually means that the follicles are nor responding to the signal, so the body is pumping more FSH to get the message across. A common cause of this problem incudes, low ovarian reserves and nutrient deficiencies. Optimal levels of FSH are between 6-10. FSH above 10, shows us lower egg quality. Let’s run your hormones and see where you FSH levels are! #DrSaraKela #fertility #fsh

Are you dealing with hair loss or hair thinning? Both men and women can be affected by hair loss or hair thinning, which can be caused by many different reasons. It is vital, through lab testing, to assess and determine the root cause of your hair loss. From there we may be able to effectively treat and in some cases reverse your hair loss. Some causes of hair loss may include, but not limited to... Food sensitivities, intolerances or allergies Nutritional deficiencies Drug induced hair loss Androgen hormone dysregulation Insulin resistance or diabetes Auto-immune disorders Poor stress management Treatment depends entirely on what is causing the hair loss. We take on an individualized approach to treatments and will perform tests to determine the cause. Once the root issue is determined, hair loss can be addressed using naturopathic medicine by: Improving nutrient (iron or any others which are low) intake AND absorption Enhancing production and function of thyroid hormones, estrogen or progesterone Lowering excess testosterone, DHEAs and/or DHT Stress reduction techniques and adrenal gland support to allow healthy adaptation to stress Address food sensitivities in the case of autoimmune hair loss and use appropriate herbs Platelet-rich plasma microneedling (DM me for more information) Make your appointment today to get to the bottom line of your hair loss. Did you know not to cook with olive oil at high temperature? The reason behind that is because olive oil has a low smoke point, therefore at higher temperatures it will cause more damage than good. Olive oil is best drizzled on foods that are cold or have been cooked already for its rich antioxidant properties and taste! The best oil to cook with is avocado oil due to its high smoke point, which means it will not oxidize at high temperatures and cause damage.... So next time you are at your local store pick up some organic avocado oil! See more
