This year in the US, there will be slightly over 5500 more cases of colon cancer in people younger than 50 years old than there were in the year 2000. (Deducted from the data recently published by the American Cancer Institute).

Recent stats published by the National Cancer Institute show an increase in the incidence of colon cancer in people under the age of 50(see graph). What that means in absolute numbers based on the current US population, is that 19,960 people under the age of 50 in the US will be diagnosed with colon and rectal cancer this year. Don't be one of them. Get screened.
