During the holidays, many of us like to partake in consuming foods and drinks that we may view as treats or inflammatory triggers. Try not to be hard on yourself during this time, as it is normal to feel a bit out of sorts. Family, isolation and pandemic stressors are all a part of life right now. You are not alone. In an effort to reduce some of the discomfort that may come from holiday treats, I’ve compiled a general list of coping strategies. Don’t mistake simplicity ...for effectiveness. Sometimes something as simple as hydration or sunshine is what our body is calling for. And, of course, this will look different for everyone. What are your holiday detox methods? Share with us. Sending well wishes! #detox #detoxyourbody #detoxification #detoxbath #careforyourself #bodylove #chronicillness #chronicpain #holidaydetox #lymedisease #autoimmunedisease #mecfs #tickbornediseases #fibromyalgia #potssyndrome #candida #sfpmg

The researchers also noted that the rates of fatigue were higher than those illustrated by previous studies on EBV, Q Fever and Ross River virus. However, in a study done in 2009 on SARS (also a coronavirus) patients, 40% struggled with fatigue 1 year after infection. The authors suggest the need to assess those recovering from COVID-19 for symptoms of severe fatigue, irrespective of severity of initial illness. Just like many diseases we’ve covered on here, COVID-19 illust...rates many complexities and the potential for long-term struggle. It’s important that we extend support to all #covidlonghaulers. We see and hear you. It’s important to understand that fatigue in chronic illness looks and feels different than everyday exhaustion. It’s debilitating in a myriad of ways. In this post I try to highlight some of the physiological causes of chronic and severe fatigue, in order to bring awareness to the fact that people with chronic illness aren’t just stressed or lazy. If you have a friend that struggles with fatigue, saying I’m tired too, or I wish I could stay home and sleep like you, can... be very hurtful. Most likely you don’t mean it to be that way! A more helpful way to interact may be to ask what their fatigue feels like. Genuine curiosity demonstrates your desire to learn about their life and condition, which is a true sign of compassion. Note: There’s a lot of overlap here with the circles - it’s much more interconnected when we paint the full patient picture. #fatigue #chronicillness #chronicpain #chronicfatigue #chronicfatiguesyndrome #mecfs #mecfsawareness #mecfswarrior #fibromyalgia #lymedisease #mcas #mastcellactivationdisorder #mastcellactivationsyndrome #invisibleillness #autoimmunedisease #autoimmunewarrior #sfpmg

Courage looks different for everyone. For some it’s going sky diving or a career change, for others it’s receiving a new IV treatment, getting out of bed or asking for help. All types of courage count, and should be recognized and respected. Regardless of the circumstances, what matters the most is that YOU acknowledge your courage and love yourself for it. What is courage to you?... Tag a friend that you know is courageous. Tell them why. #courage #healthcrisis #invisibleillness #motivation #patientsfirst #healing #healingjourney #holistichealth #chronicdisease #chronicpain #lymedisease #sfpmg
