Drivon School of Law

Over the summer we offered a very special elective, Law and Public Policy, taught by our former state representative Greg Aghazarian and Dr. Larry Giventer, retired State University Professor. The class visited Sacramento to meet lobbyists and attend a Judicial Committee hearing. The class was also lectured by a local State Assemblywoman and State Senator, met other government officials and learned how lawyers enter the legislative process.

On Wednesday, May 29 our law school graduate, Yuliana Herrera-Borrero was sworn-in, taking the attorney oath. Taking the oath is not just a ritual, but it is required for admission to practice law in California. Another Humphreys graduate joins the Bar. Congratulations, Yuliana!

The Drivon School of Law Moot Court team at the BLSA competition in Las Vegas last week. They did a great job representing our school. Our Associate Dean Reynolds accompanied the team as coach. The team was composed of Lesly Benavides and Peni McConnell. Thomas Helme was the BLSA local chapter representative. The photo shows our team and our coach with the Attorney General of Nevada. We hope this will inspire more students to participate next year.
