A few summers ago down south.

I got to photograph this house right before COVID hit. We shot interiors and exteriors. It recently sold for around $9.9 million.

It's October 2009, unemployment is at 10%, and the Great Recession was coming to an end. Not the perfect time to be graduating college with a degree in photography. I had just completed my 1st summer lifeguarding for the City of Coronado. My father had moved to Maui a few years before, so I bought a one-way ticket to go see what the Island Life was all about. When I was growing up, we spent a lot of time over there, but I never had the intention of staying. During that time,... I got to sample a few waves I had only dreamed about. When it's on, water moves very fast over there. This particular day, my brother-in-law, @brettsouth a visiting friend @alexthevagabond and I paddled out between "The Cave" and "Outside." Alex and I made it out right in between sets fortunately, but Brett got caught by a set and preceded to get whomped for about 20 mins. We ended up having a really good session. Some of the locals there have it so dialed in -- you could tell when you saw the same guys zoom past every 15 minutes or so. We got a few, and man did you move fast down the line.
