Social audio trends: What service would be most useful? https://web-strategist.com//the-future-of-social-audio-s/
Why go to Mars? We got 3 key innovations going to the moon: the chip, the onboard computer (PC and software like Microsoft), and Silicon Valley, probably the biggest ROI in history for a government project that is now worth $ trillions and generating $100 billions of exports every year. Mars exploration will require quantum computers and communications, 100% recycling systems, new radiation and temperature-hardened materials, VR/AR/MR, 3D printing, telerobotics, telemedicine and surgery, etc. -- which will catalyze the next Silicon Valleys. By the way, in 2010, I co-developed European Space Agency (ESA) demand-pull "Down to Earth" space tech commercialization methodology, which we tested with Volvo, a high school, Lidkoping green port, and Electrolux. NASA copied our "Down to Earth" slogan for its tech transfer website.
#Future U.S. #Cities? Future fortunes will be in WATER, LAND DEVELOPMENT, SMART GRIDS, SMART FARMS, and ECO-CITIES, not just tech. On Wall Street, water is the hot "New Oil" commodity. I wouldn't be surprised if Bill Gates, Larry Ellison, Tesla and other moguls who are buying up huge tracts of western land don't install water pipelines. Remember Owens Valley water to LA in "Chinatown" or Colorado River water to Las Vegas, which earned developers $100s of billions over time? $trillions will be made by building and selling new cities accessing Alaska and Canadian water and leasing space on existing oil pipeline rights-of-ways to Texas. Alaska and Canada could earn fortunes selling water, not oil, to Texas and other dry states.
Kudos to my hometown San Jose! Up to 50% of most U.S. city downtowns are parking lots, which is a total waste of space and encourages solo gas vehicles. Cities need to infill with multi-use complexes, especially affordable rentals and owner units, smart grids, walking and bike lanes, cultural street fairs, etc. to bring them alive. Cities are people, not just buildings!
An excellent article, but not enough discussion of Inclusion and Diversity, which will be the #1 issue given the changing demographics in the U.S. and Europe, and rapid African and Mideast megacity growth: https://medium.com//how-to-scale-a-regenerative-business-m
#Future #Cities: Since the U.S. government encouraged REITs and corporations to buy and flip foreclosed homes after 2008, investors have expanded beyond the limited built properties to land, where they'll be able to build their own smart sustainable cities with EVs, smart grids, etc. -- similar to Irvine Ranch in Orange County -- where they control everything. Tesla, Google and other giants are building company towns, so we're seeing the privatization of urban planning, where residents will give up their personal data gathered in these surveillance cities. Water will be crucial for urban development and becoming a commodity on Wall Street as "the new oil." However, I'm skeptical of "smart cities": https://www.forbes.com//03/03/the-evolution-of-smart-cit/
