How do we open ourselves up to the things we've never considered? How can break through the limitations of our consciousness to reach our highest potential? Brain studies have shown that an area that of the brain (the anterior cingulate cortex) gets activated during states of anxiety, like with obsessive compulsive thoughts and behaviors. At those times, the activity along neural pathways is rigid. ... Interestingly, during hypnosis, that same area of the brain gets activated but in the opposite way so that those neural pathways are flexible instead of fixed.
