Dr Debra Gambrell 11.01.2021

I haven’t posted on this page in quite awhile. For the past few months I’ve been changing gears. When work slowed with the close of our economy, I reached out to see what opportunities were out there. For months I didn’t hear much. Then an opportunity came up to practice Pediatric Anesthesia at a high acuity hospital. For the past few weeks I’ve been working in Fresno and relearning a specially that was second nature to me just under a decade ago. Needless to say, I’ve been learning a ton and humbled throughout the process. I’m grateful for this experience as well as for the amazing people I’ve met.

Dr. Debra Gambrell, an anesthesiologist in Northern California and Oregon, usually stays present with her patients during a Ketamine infusion. She gives them various sensory experiences that include chimes, proprioceptive real touch, neural therapy, and various light therapies. She has even given Ketamine infusions during a sun set to allow for a more vivid experience during transitions of consciousness. An accumulation of trauma prevents a patient’s natural unfolding whic...h does not allow them to reach their true potential in life, states Dr Debra Gambrell. Dr. Gambrell started to administer and study the effects of Ketamine on a private patient. She noticed that after she administered the Ketamine infusions to her patient, he was able to access things and start to get movement into areas of his subconscious. Dr. Gambrell describes it as giving her patient space to move. See more

"The Southern California chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics spoke out recently against a similar plan for Los Angeles County schools, calling it not realistic or even developmentally appropriate and warned that masks for younger children could hinder their language skills and other development."

Ventilators were the wrong intervention. It’s great that we backed off soon after realizing that. It turns out non invasive oxygenation carries significantly less risk. Hyperbaric oxygen chambers have been the unexpected star of this show. "Question What are the associations between noninvasive oxygenation strategies and outcomes among adults with acute hypoxemic respiratory failure? Findings In this systematic review and network meta-analysis that included 25 studies and ...3804 patients with acute hypoxemic respiratory failure, compared with standard oxygen therapy there was a statistically significant lower risk of death with helmet noninvasive ventilation (risk ratio, 0.40) and face mask noninvasive ventilation (risk ratio, 0.83). Meaning Noninvasive oxygenation strategies compared with standard oxygen therapy were significantly associated with lower risk of death."
