Everyone be aware of your surroundings and your possessions but mostly your safety. While property crimes, such as package thieves and smash and grabs from your automotive tend to increase in the holiday months, it seems the criminals are starting sooner. Next Sunday we turn back the clocks and it begins to get darker sooner, random criminals will heed the opportunity. It could be we have more crimes of opportunity because everyone is in a hurry and preoccupied with life even...ts and we do not notice the opportunity of deception we are creating. NO, I am not saying we brought it upon ourselves, I am saying crimes of opportunity happen when we provide the opportunity. I recently had items stolen from my car, I left my car doors unlocked something I am cautious not to do and I did it and that was the day I was the subject of casual thievery.
