Greetings from Dr Hood’s office We wanted to reach out and let you all know we are staying up on all the updates and restrictions put in place by Governor Newsom, the California Dental Association, and the American Orthodontic Association during the covid-19 pandemic. Our goal is to be mindful of these restrictions, but to be able to also accommodate our patients. The safety of our patients, the community, and our fellow staff members are of the utmost importance. Here at Dr ...Hood’s office we have always used universal precautions during our sterilization process, but due to the covid-19 pandemic, we have also installed an air scrubber, barrier screens, additional blue light technology for quicker/more efficient sterilization, and will require patients to rinse with a hydrogen peroxide prior to being seen. Although Governor Newsom is still only allowing us to see patients for emergencies only, the American Orthodontic Association has now included patients in active treatment with active appliances that could cause detriment without proper monitoring and adjusting as a part of emergency care. Unfortunately, we are still not cleared to do additional bonding appointments, debonding appointments or any routine pre-orthodontic or post-orthodontic care appointments. We apologize for any inconvenience. Our office will be calling to start appointing back into the modified schedule as soon as possible. This transition will be in phases. Please be patient as we will be triaging these appointments based on when you were originally scheduled and the current stage of your treatment. If you have not heard from our office to reschedule by May 18th, you may reach out to get back into our schedule and we will reschedule you according to the regulations at that date. To say WE MISS YOU would be an understatement! Just reaching out to let my patients know I am thinking about you and keeping up with any and all updates that will allow us to slowly start working you guys back into our schedule. As soon as we are given a green light (even if it's limited), we will reach out and prioritize getting our patients back in to have your orthodontic treatment supervised. We Miss You and hope you are doing well! Unfortunately, I have no new news regarding when we will be able to see our patients for their routine adjustments. If you have any questions regarding your orthodontic treatment, you may call (530-343-7021) or email ([email protected]) the office and we will be able to address issues individually. We will have limited office hours for emergency appointments only, but your messages will be addressed as soon as we can. We will not be rescheduling your appointments at this time as we do not have any concrete information as to when we will be able to see patients as we are following all the regulations set forth by the CDA and the state to keep our patients and employees safe and healthy. I am posting again, some helpful hints for patients with any orthodontic issues.

Happy Monday. At this time all in office adjustment appointments are CANCELLED. Given the gravity of this health care crisis and national emergency, we have been advised to suspend all dental care with the exception of emergency cases that present as life-threatening. The purpose of this recommendation, consistent with the statewide shelter-in-place order, is to minimize the risks of virus exposure to patients and the dental team and to preserve critical health care workers' ...personal protective equipment (PPE), which are currently in extremely short supply. Dr. Hood is reviewing all charts and we want you to know, we are available for orthodontic emergencies and virtual appointments. Please know this will not delay your treatment in our office. We will be available for any questions you may have and will try hard to keep you posted with any updates. In the spirit of community and in accordance with the guidelines from the CDA and the State, we are suspending all non-essential care for at least the next 2 weeks, to and including March 26th 2020. If you have an appointment in our office within that time period, we will be calling you as soon as possible to reschedule your appointment. Please be patient with us and allow us to call you to reschedule. This will help us manage the overall appointment schedule in order to best... address everyone's needs. Dr Hood is reviewing each patient's status as appointments are rescheduled to minimize the impact this delay will have on your overall treatment time. We are monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation with the top priority being the safety of our patients and staff. Using information received from both the CDA and Butte County Public Health, we continue to evaluate the status of our appointments. Should changes be necessary, we will post updates on both our Facebook page and website as we can. Please feel free to call the office with any questions. The staff is in limited morning hours this week for the spring break week and appointments are limited next week as well.

Dr Hood and his staff wanted to reach out to all patients to let you know we are following all the CDA recommendations per the latest updates and guidance for dental practitioners and cancelling all appointments, except emergency visits, for the next two weeks. We are not yet rescheduling your appointment as we do not know how things will be unfolding. We thank you in advance for your understanding and will keep you posted.
