Below are a few exercises I recommend to my patients (FYI: Prone position is face down) Important to note that if you are in need of an adjustment it's best to get adjusted PRIOR TO EXERCISE. This is because a misaligned spine creates muscle imbalance. Exercising while it's misaligned will reinforce this imbalance. THis is why you may see my patients walking around my building AFTER an adjustment (before getting into their car). OR having traction, upper body massage or exercises AFTER the adjustment.

A few preventative tips. 1) Raise your headrest so that it's above your head and about 1-2" from the back of your head. This way if you stop short or you're in an accident the headrest will be there to protect you. 2) Check your Auto Insurance Policy to see if you have Med Pay. Most Auto insurance plans will cover your injuries(& passengers) plus car damage, but MedPay will be there to pay the doctors or auto repairs as needed. Are you a stomach or side sleeper? They say stomach sleepers do so because 'they want to leave their troubles behind'. What I have found is stomach sleepers = chronic neck problems. And side sleepers can also have neck or back with pillow +/or positioning issues. Body pillows can give comfort and support for stomach and side sleepers. However..... Here is one tip I give my patients:... If the body pillow that you are using between your legs is too thick you may develop hip and low back pain. Solution: a King size pillow may work better for you. See more
