Dos Lagos Dental 06.01.2021

We have resumed our regular hours to care for the dental needs of our community . Here's what to expect at your visit:

Dos Lagos Dental 14.11.2020

It's been hard not seeing your wonderful smiles the past 2 months, but we're happy to have done our part in flattening the curve around Covid-19. As we prepare to reopen the office, we will continue to do our part to keep our staff, patients, and community healthy. The good news is that because infection control has always been our highest priority, many of the things recommended by the CDC were things we were doing all along. We of course will be adding additional measures..., such as screening questions, temperature checks for patients and staff, requiring face masks when entering, limiting the number of people in the waiting room, etc. While we realize this may increase your wait time, we hope you will understand it is an effort to keep everyone safe. Our plan is to open a few days next week, and reopen fully by June 1. We will see you soon!

Please join us in giving a warm welcome to the newest member of our team, Dr. Emily Nguyen. Dr. Nguyen studied Biology at UC Irvine prior to receiving her dental degree from the renowned Arthur A. Dugoni University of the Pacific in San Francisco. Her goal is to remove the negative stigma on dental experiences by striving to provide you with the highest level of care. She looks forward to meeting you and getting to know you better.

Covid-19 has presented us with the difficult task of balancing the safety of our employees and patients with the needs of our community. Because we know your dental health can contribute greatly to your physical health, the decision on how much care to continue to provide is not an easy one. At this time, we have elected to significantly reduce the days we will remain open, and will be focused only on urgent issues on the days we are open. That means all check-ups and routine cleanings will be cancelled. During this time, we hope you will step up your preventative efforts at home, and spend just a little more time brushing and flossing. As a community, we will get through this tough time. We know in our hearts there will be plenty of bright days ahead, and look forward to seeing your wonderful smiles once again.

This week we give thanks to our awesome staff and our wonderful patients that have entrusted their dental care to us. It is only with you that we have been able to provide the excellent care our community deserves for the past 9 years. We continue to count our blessings and look forward to many more.

Today we bid a fond farewell to Dr. Moon. She is relocating to Los Angeles, making her commute to our office no longer feasible. We are sad to see her go, but are gratefulfor the time we had her as part of our team. She will be missed by all, and we wish her all the best in La La Land.

As November rolls around and we start to think about Thanksgiving, we wanted to thank our wonderful patients for all the kind words and emails. Since we put all our resources toward providing great care instead of advertising, we depend on your good word to others in our community. Thank you for entrusting us with your care for the past 8 years. We hope for many more.

We love being able to normally offer you the convenience of Saturday appointments, but will closed today, 5/19, so that our staff may attend the annual California Dental Association convention. It allows us to learn about the latest advances in dentistry so that we may provide you with the exemplary care that you deserve.

Highly recommended Dos Lagos Dental. I was there two and half hours today starting the process of getting a bridge and had an excellent experience. The dentist was with me pretty much the entire time. No waiting or wasting time. The best part is no pain tonight.

Happy Labor Day to all the hard working men and women out there, especially our team at Dos Lagos Dental. It is only through their tireless efforts that we are able to provide our patients those wonderful smiles. The office is closed today, but we'll be back tomorrow to continue serving our community.

Our office is closed today, Saturday, May 6 so that our team may attend the annual California Dental Association meeting. It gives us a chance to improve our knowledge base and learn new innovations in dentistry. This helps us in our goal of providing you the best dental care in Corona and Temescal Valley.

Our philosophy is pretty simple. We want to be your neighborhood dentist and will do so only by gaining your trust. We therefore strive to provide honest, quality dental care. We spend very little on advertising, and instead hope word about our office will spread through our satisfied patients. We hope we can make you one of them.

We are sometimes asked why we only accept PPO insurance and not HMO insurance, so we would like to provide some education on the difference. HMO insurance pays the office a set amount per patient per month, usually around $10. For that that amount the insurance expects the office to provide certain services such as exam, cleaning, etc with no additional cost to the patient. If additional services are required, the insurance may pay an additional amount, but not anywhere cl...ose to the usual cost for those services. PPO insurance is different. They pay only when services are rendered. The amount they pay for the services is still less than the usual cost, but not by much, and is a fair amount. The office is therefore able to provide the services patients actually need, and still be able to make a reasonable profit. One might ask why an office would accept HMO if they are not being paid enough to sustain the office. The answer is two-fold. First, it guarantees them a base of patients. If you have an HMO insurance, you may realize that there are not many offices that accept it. Therefore, the ones that do accept it have a set of patients waiting for them. Second, they make up the difference from what they are paid and what it costs them through the patient. Patients are usually offered upgraded treatments not covered by the insurance and asked to pay out-of-pocket. We at Dos Lagos Dental aim to keep costs to our patients at a minimum. That is why we do not accept HMO insurance.
