USC Dornsife Ambassadors 20.02.2021

We need YOU to help shape the future of USC! It is not too late to submit your application to be an Explore USC Host! Sign up to be an Explore USC host and help us recruit and shape the next generation of Trojans! As a current student host, you’ll get to hang out with admitted students who are trying to decide whether USC is the right fit for them. The first Explore programs begin at the end of February. For all the dates of the programs, click here: http://www.usc.edu/de/a...dmissions/web/explorehost/dates.html. Click below to hear current USC students talk about their personal Explore and Hosting experiences! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOYPU4PQ0q4 If you decide that being an Explore host sounds like fun, click here to submit your Host Application: https://esdweb.esd.usc.edu/explorehosting When you sign up to be a host, you'll need to attend one of the host training sessions, which are listed here: http://www.usc.edu//admissio/web/explorehost/training.html. You can attend either a Dornsife session or one of the training sessions being held by the main Office of Admission, which ever one fits better with your schedule. In addition to going over the details of your role as a host, the Dornsife-specific trainings will provide donuts (yum!) and a chance to get to know some of your fellow hosts! Questions? Concerns? Email Jess Castaldi in Dornsife Admission at [email protected]. Fight on!!

Dornsife on the Daily

USC Dornsife Ambassadors 16.01.2021

Name: Vivian Rotenstein Year in School: Senior Major(s) / Minor(s): ... Major Psychology Minors -- Psychology & Law, Musical Studies (Piano) Hometown: Oak Park, California Favorite aspect of Dornsife Ambassadors? Hosting prospective students in the spring for Explore USC has always been my favorite part of being a Dornsife Ambassador especially when the high schoolers I hosted contact me later in the spring to tell me they ultimately decided to come to USC, it makes my day! I think the students really appreciate getting a personalized perspective of the college experience by being able to talk to and interact with a current USC Dornsife student one on one. I remember being in their shoes four years ago and all the stress and anxiety that comes with college admissions, so for me it’s really rewarding to have such a positive impact on their decision process. Favorite spot on campus? The grassy hill area behind the Thornton Music School Favorite class taken at USC? Sociology 351: Public Policy and Juvenile Justice with Professor McGene Favorite experience while at USC so far? My favorite USC experience was actually outside of the USC campus, and would hands down have to be studying abroad at University College London last fall. I was apprehensive before going because I didn’t know anyone from USC who was be going to be at my university in London, but it ultimately was the most rewarding and enriching four months I could’ve asked for I met amazing people from around the world, got to take classes alongside British students, travel throughout Europe, and live in one of the most culturally rich & diverse cities in the world! Favorite aspect of USC? I love the emphasis USC places on interdisciplinary study it prompted me to pursue a music degree along with my Psychology major, and it’s generally just really inspiring & motivating to be around students who have such a wide variety of academic interests. Clubs & Organizations Involved in at USC: Dornsife Ambassadors, President of USC Project 32 Tutoring, USC Hillel, Wellness Advocate at Office for Wellness & Health Promotion, Research Assistant at the Brain & Creativity Institute, Research Assistant at the USC Family Studies Project Cats or dogs? Dogs!! I could talk about my two dogs back at home pretty much all day, I’m unashamedly very obsessed with them. Morning person or night owl? Technically speaking I guess I’d say I’m a night owl, but with the help of copious amounts of coffee, I can become a morning person once the caffeine kicks in Want to be able to share your love for Dornsife & the Trojan family with prospective USC students? Apply to become a Dornsife Ambassador! Applications are due TOMORROW, Friday, September 4th at 5pm! Find the application here: tinyurl.com/HowtoDA #JointheDAFamily
