It really happened! On Friday, October 9th 2015, Governor Jerry Brown signed a bill (SB 4) to extend health care coverage to low income undocumented immigrant children. There have been $40 million allocated in the fiscal year 2015-2016 state budget for this implementation, and $137 million for 2016-2017. The state plans to begin implementation no sooner than May, 2016. CHISB applauds the work all the advocacy organizations who made this possible and thank Governor Brown for making a priority to cover all our children in California.
