This morning, I needed one thing at the store so rushed with a t-shirt on. I saw one of my yard signs, pulled over to get it. As I was putting it in my trunk, someone parked in front of me and got out and walked toward me. George introduced himself by saying he lived close by. He was hoping it was me, and wanted to congratulate me. He asked to take a picture of us, and I said, oh, no, I'm in a t-shirt. I put on a jacket and he took the picture. We talked for awhile and he told me some concerns about Rowland, and when I take office, I will look into them. What a nice man! He made me feel like a movie star!!!!!!!!

The results were updated and here they are!!!!!! WOW! I'm still in shock! I wish I could thank every 2,266 person that voted for me! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you everyone for your support!!!!! I couldn't have done this without the help of ARE, CSEA, all the people that phone banked and walked door-to-door, as well as put my yard signs up! I am so fortunate! I won! I received almost 2,000 votes and the person that came in second had 1,100+ votes. WOW! I'm still in shock, I wish I could thank every person that voted for me! I will make them proud that they voted for me!!! :-) THANK YOU everyone for all your support, once again! :-)

Today is Election Day! Remember to vote! I am so excited, I get to vote for myself! I just want to take this time to say THANK YOU to everyone for all your support, it was really appreciated!!! I know I gave 100% to this campaign, so whatever happens, happens! I'm nervous and excited at the same time, I'm looking forward to the results! YAY!!! Today, Margie came over and went door-to-door with me. We went to 55 houses in almost 4 hours. When she left, she hugged me and said she was proud of me!!!! Then, at 2:30 I went out again. I went to 70 houses. 125 houses in one day. I met so many nice people. The absentee ballet voters said they already sent it in, and voted for me! Others said, "I know you!" It was very successful. 2 people said they received my post card in the mail! In 3 more days it will all be over and we will know the results! 9 1/2 hours of campaigning today, and well, worth it!

Last weekend before the election. I have gone door-to-door to 700+ homes. Tuesday is election day! I am the one candidate that is a teacher. I have worked with students like ours for almost 36 years. I will always vote on what is best for our students and community. I am determined to speak up for our children. I'm in my 36th year of teaching. I have lived in the community for 29 years. My children attended the Rowland Schools from 1st -12th grades. I promise to do a job that will make you proud you voted for me. There was a debate last night at the mobile home park in Rowland Heights. Many people said I did a good job. :-) This was my speech: Hello, My name is Donna Freedman, the one candidate that is a teacher. Thank you for inviting me here. I’m in my 36th year of teaching at the same elementary school in San Gabriel Valley. I still love and enjoy teaching very much! I have been Teacher of the Year twice. I have lived in Rowland Heights for 29 years. My children att...ended Rowland schools from 1st -12th grades. They both have their B. A. Degrees now. I’m endorsed by the Teachers‘ Association and the School Employees at Rowland. In addition to my educational background, I also was a business owner. This experience will help me with the fiscal and business side of being a Board member. Being a teacher, I’ve served on several committees. Some of them are: *School Site Council, *Report Card Committee, *Math Adoption Committee, *Grade Level Team Leadership, *GATE Liaison GATE stands for (Gifted and Talented Education) I am a very positive person. I believe you can get a lot more things done when you are positive which is one reason why I am a very successful teacher. My motto is Children First! I am determined to speak up for our children. I am a fighter when it comes to protecting or speaking up for children. I have proven this for almost 36 years as a teacher! My key priorities are: Class Size, Combination Classes, Safety, Extra Curricular Activities (Music Program and Field Trips), Honor’s Program, and Declining Enrollment As a Board Member, I will be a leader with lots of educational experience. Here we are in the Buckboard Days Parade, a very, very short video! :-)

Buckboard Days Parade was sooo nice. This car was so beautiful, Shay (the president of the Associated Rowland Educators), arranged for the car through a friend. It was so much fun going down the parade and waving at all the people on the sidelines. Neighbors would yell out, Hi Donna!!! :-) I said Hello and Hi to everyone I saw while waving. It ended at the park, where we passed out fans, pencils, buttons, and campaign papers. It was a huge success! :-)

Monday night was the Debate! This is a picture of my cheering section! Kenny, my Dad, and Connie (her and her husband have been a part of every single thing on my campaign)! Everyone said I did a good job!!!! I was soooo nervous at the beginning!!! One man asked, if I started teaching at 7 years old? Since I said I was in my 36th year of teaching. smile emoticon Another person, said, that I must be an awesome teacher! So many people came up and said, I did a great job! YAY!!!!!!!!!!! Rowland staff was there for support also, which was so thoughtful of them!
