In 2016, Gabbi who was battling Leukemia at 19, attended a Kenny Chesney concert. "The thing I remember most about the concert most would be feeling 'normal'. For once I was able to forget that I didn't feel good or that I was sick. I was around people who all wanted the same thing, to have fun and enjoy the night. The energy and environment were electric and fun."

"We wanted to thank you so much for sending us to the for KING & COUNTRY concert. Shannon and I had a great time. With everything going on, it was a nice break for both of us!" said her husband, Jason. "Sincerely, we really appreciated your organization arranging this for us... it is nice that [DIFTL] is for anyone with a life-threatening illness." Do It For The Love is a wish-granting nonprofit organization that brings people living with life-threatening illnesses, children with severe challenges, and wounded veterans to live concerts. Through the healing power of music, our goal is to inspire joy, hope, and lasting celebratory memories in the face of severe illness or trauma.

"What I most remember about this experience was the smile on Myles' face, which is a far different look on his face he has during his dialysis therapy," said his mom, Denise. Myles, 18, was diagnosed with end-stage renal disease at 18 months. His family attended the The Lion King - Musical in 2019. "The experience inspired Myles to continue to believe that one day he will be blessed with another kidney, and he was honored that you accepted his request. He will remember this experience for a long time!!! Continue to do what you guys do. It is a significant piece of therapy and a break from the rigors of continued medical appointments and issues for patients."
Shannon, 18, was first diagnosed when she was 13 years old. She has been through 10 surgeries (including brain, abdominal, and scalp reconstruction), 2 years of treatments, had her melanoma return AND has beaten it twice. Through it all, Shannon has remained strong! "I have had so many people tell me what an inspiration she has been to them," said her mom. Shannon was able to see Lauren Daigle live in concert in February 2020, just before COVID-19 hit. Shannon hasn't had... a normal year of school since sixth grade due to melanoma, and she thought her Senior year would finally be the normal one. "I'm really glad I had the chance to see Lauren in concert," said Shannon. "When I'm sad about all my senior year stuff being canceled, I can look back at this incredible experience. I also enjoyed having my friends be able to go with me and give us lasting memories together of the experience!"
15-year-old Nathan was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy in 2011. "It has definitely been a journey of highs and lows," says his mom Sherri, "but Nathan has never complained and his spirit is always high." Nathan's wish to see Hillsong UNITED was granted in 2019. "The whole experience was truly phenomenal... Thank you, Do It For The Love, for putting a magical smile on my son's face!"

"Kate is a sweet, spunky 5-year-old who loves music and dancing," says her mom, Elizabeth. "Her beautiful smile and zest for life light up a room." Kate is living with Spinal Muscular Atrophy, and the daily struggles that go along with it can be tough for her, but she does it with a smile on her face "Having this experience reminded us to enjoy little things in life, like jamming out to your favorite song. Our DCappella CD is on repeat! A huge thank you to Do It For The Lov...e for making this possible for Kate and our family. It was so appreciated that Kate's big brother, Ben, was able to be included and feel special as well! Thanks to your organization, Kate and our family made a memory that will last a lifetime. Big brother Ben and Kate have loved telling everyone that they got to see DCappella in person and sing in the theater!" #HopeHealingMusic #DoItForTheLove

"My name is Kenzie, and I am a 24-year-old social worker. At the age of 14, I was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. At the age of 19, diagnosed with Crohn's disease. At 21, I was diagnosed with Addison's Disease. Back in January 2018, I fought through the very hardest days of my life while in a medically induced coma. My body and its ability to function was radically altered by a pneumonia infection gone rogue, which caused my body to go into hypoxic acute respira...tory failure/develop ARDS... a condition that fatally claims nearly half of its victims each year. I am one of the lucky ones - I know that - because not only did I wake up from my ICU nightmare, but I was also afforded a full recovery and a group of family, friends, and colleagues who saw me through that recovery. Just prior to my ICU stay, my boyfriend introduced me to The Beatles. I listened to them here and there, but it wasn't until after I was extubated and disconnected from the ventilator that I really began to appreciate their magic. I listened to 'Let It Be' on repeat all throughout the first night I was conscious again." In 2019, we were able to send Mckenzie and her boyfriend to see Paul McCartney live. "The illusion that things could have been any different is just that... an illusion... and I am nothing but grateful for the pain that has shaped me. THANK YOU, Do It For The Love, for reminding us all just how powerful music really is!" Thank you, McKenzie, for being such a strong, compassionate, and inspiring person in this world! #HopeHealingMusic #DoItForTheLove

In September 2018, neurosurgeon Dr. Fowler was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. "I am a neurosurgeon who regularly deals with acute life-threatening illnesses. Being on the other side of that as a patient with a life-threatening issue is a new experience and, of course, eye-opening." Cas and his daughter share a passion for music, dancing, and live shows. They had plans to attend a Greta Van Fleet concert before his diagnosis. After Cas completed an intense treatment p...lan, they were able to attend a different show the following year and closer to home. His wife reached out to us about setting up a surprise meet-and-greet. With the help of Great Van Fleet, we were able to make that happen! "Thank you so much for the work that you do. Taking time to live in the moment and enjoy the beauty of everyday life and special experiences like what the Do It For The Love organization provides and the bands that are agreeable to participating in this such as Greta Van Fleet is absolutely amazing. Thanks to all once again that means so much." #HopeHealingMusic #DoItForTheLove
