Gebrannte Mandeln, which tra...nslates literally to burnt almonds, are caramelized sugar-coated almonds traditionally cooked fresh in copper kettles at festivals. They are usually served in cone-shaped paper bags. Buy a bag or two or more at GISSV - German International School of Silicon Valley’s German Holiday Market on Saturday, December 8th, 11am - 9pm, at Castro and Mercy streets in downtown Mountain View. Dirk's Candies will be making #GebrannteMandeln fresh at its booth on Mercy Street. GISSV will also be selling Dirk's Gebrannte Mandeln at its Kaffee & Kuchen (Coffee & Cake) Booth, located near the entrance to Mountain View City Hall. Dirk's candied almonds also make delectable gifts.
