In a historic win for LGBTQ+ rights, the Supreme Court has ruled that the Civil Rights Act of 1964 protects people from workplace discrimination on the basis of their sexual orientation and gender identity. This means that you can no longer be fired from your workplace solely because you are gay or transgender. The work for further protections continues, but this is a great win for our community! NEW APARC COORDINATOR ALERT!! We are excited to welcome Tia Chea as the new APARC Coordinator on Monday June 22nd. Please stay tuned for Zoom meet and greet session coming in a few weeks! Tia comes to CSUF from UC Riverside where she served as Program Coordinator at the Asian Pacific Student Programs. She has worked extensively facilitating a sense of belonging among Students of Color on college campuses, and particularly specializes in the Asian American populations. She is excited to learn and empower the APIDA & SWANA communities here at CSUF. Please join the entire DIRC staff in welcoming our newest member, Tia!
