VOCATION AWARENESS WEEK! We call upon our Blessed Mother to intercede for the Diocese of Fresno and to encourage men and women to imitate her generous "FIAT - LET IT BE DONE" in me. Let us pray: Virgin of Guadalupe,... Patroness of the Americas, you are the Mother of God, Mother of the Church and Our Mother! Jesus, your Son, changed the water into wine because you asked for it. We implore you, merciful Mother, to obtain for us all the graces we need from your Son. Intercede before Him to bless the Americas, and especially our Diocese, with many holy vocations to the priesthood, religious life, Christian marriage and the single lay life. Mother of God, pray for us now and always. Amen Oremos: Virgen de Guadalupe, Evangelizadora de las Américas, ¡Madre de Dios, Madre de la Iglesia y Madre Nuestra! Tú eres el orgullo de nuestra gente. Jesús, tu Hijo, cambió el agua en vino porque tú se lo pediste. Te imploramos, Madre Misericordiosa, que obtengas para nosotros todas las gracias que necesitamos de tu Hijo. VOCATIONS AWARENESS WEEK! Praying for and inspiring vocations is EVERYONE'S business! Let us pray: Gracious God,... You are the gentle presence, the peaceful light, that fills our whole world. We believe that you care for all your creatures with wisdom and love. Take care of us, your Church, this day. Give to us all grace and courage to live out our baptism as faithful disciples of your son, Jesus Christ. Give us good pastors who will call us to love and forgiveness and lead us in worship in the community of the Spirit. Bring forth from among us other ministers whose many-splendored gifts will strengthen our community. Raise up people in religious life who by their unusual witness to the Gospel will call us to the love of God and neighbor. You have enfolded the smallness of our humanity in your divinity. Fill us all with your Holy Spirit. Amen. Oremos: Te damos gracias, Dios nuestro, por tu llamada del Bautismo a ser tu pueblo. Te respondemos otra vez con nuestro "Sí". Danos fidelidad para tu causa y para nuestra vocación. Renueva con un espíritu de entusiasmo a todos los que se dedican al servicio de tu pueblo. Da a nuestros jóvenes el deseo de dedicarse a este servicio en la vida religiosa, en el sacerdocio, o como diáconos y ministro laicos. Llena sus corazones con tu Espíritu de Sabiduría para que proclamen tu evangelio, y den testimonio de tu presencia entre nosotros. Amén.

VOCATIONS AWARENESS WEEK! Lord help me to know your will for me and what will make me truly happy! Let us pray: Loving God,... Is it I, Lord? Are you calling me to a vocation of ministry in the Church as Priest, Sister, Brother or Deacon? Or if I am already living out a life's vocation, are you asking me to help call others to the ministry of leadership in the Church? We do need men and women to help lead us as Church, Lord. We are your people of the Diocese of Fresno; Speak to us Lord. Open the minds and hearts of many men and women to live your Word and build your Kingdom. Speak to me Lord. Plant your Word within me so that whatever you call me to be or do I may say Yes, Here I Am Lord. Lord here I am! What would you like me to do with my life? (Pause to listen to God for a moment) Teach me to do your will, Lord. And let your Holy Spirit guide me! Oremos: Padre, tú llamas a cada uno de nosotros por nombre y nos pides que te sigamos. Bendice a tu Iglesia y danos dedicados y generosos líderes de nuestras familias y amigos quienes puedan servir a tu pueblo como religiosas, sacerdotes, diáconos y ministros laicos. VOCATIONS AWARNESS WEEK! Dear Parents, you have a HUGE role in helping your children and young people open their hearts to God's call! Let us pray:... O Father, you desire all of us to be happy, just as we desire a fulfilling and happy life for our children. Stir up the grace of a religious vocation in the hearts of many men and women. And if you call our son or daughter to serve you in the priesthood or consecrated life, grant to them the willingness and generosity to give of themselves, their lives, their time and their talents to the service of Jesus Christ, Your Son, and to His Holy Church. We want what you want for our children. May more men and women go forth as priests, deacons, brothers and sisters to bring the truths of our Catholic faith to all others so that soon they, too, may know You better and love You more... and serving You, be truly happy. Amen. Oremos: Oh Padre, deseas que todos seamos felices así como nosotros tambien deseamos una vida plena y feliz para nuestros hijos. Agitar la gracia de una vocación religiosa en el corazón de muchos hombres y mujeres. Y si llamas a nuestro hijo o hija a servirte en el sacerdocio o en la vida consagrada, concédele la voluntad y la generosidad par dar de sí mismos, de sus vidas, de su tiempo y de sus talentos al servicio de Jesucristo, Tu Hijo y de Su Santa Iglesia. Queremos, nosotros, lo que Tu quieres para nuestros hijos. Que más hombres y mujeres salgan como sacerdotes, diáconos, hermanos y hermanas para llevar las verdades de nuestra fe Católica a todos los demás para que pronto ellos, también, puedan conocerte mejor y amarte más... y serviendote, sé verdaderamente felices. Give us the energy and courage of Your Spirit to shape its future Grant us faith-filled leaders who will embrace Christ's Mission of love and justice. Bless the Church of Fresno by raising up dedicated and generous leaders from our families and friends who will serve Your people as Sisters, Priests, Brothers, Deacons and Lay Ministers. Inspire us to know You better and open our hearts to hear Your call. We ask this through Christ, our Lord. Almighty and eternal God, in your unfailing love you provide ministers for your Church. We pray for those whom you call to serve the Church of Fresno... as priests, deacons and consecrated men and women. Inspire in them a generous response. National Vocation Awareness Week, which will be celebrated November 1-7, 2020, is an annual week-long celebration of the Catholic Church in the United States dedicated to promote vocations to the priesthood, diaconate and consecrated life through prayer and education, and to renew our prayers and support for those who are considering one of these particular vocations. NVAW began in 1976 when the U. S. bishops designated the 28th Sunday of the year for NVAW. Beginning in 2014, NVAW was moved to the first full week of November. I invite you to pray with us this week. And check back each day for additional prayers, interesting videos and stories.
