This ranch life livin's got me come to understand; A woman needs a good cow dog, and an even better man- both to try her temper, and one to hold her hand. You gotta ride yourself an honest horse of decent size. Don't hesitate to bite your tongue- 'cause sometimes silence seems you wise. Remember liquor before beer, and a burger when you can't see clear. Always tube the calf on the left side, ... Not all tears you have to hide. Never assume that cow is just bluff'n, Give her the chance and she'll send you out a huff'n. Authenticity is beauty some fail to see. Never be afraid to be you- Don't be her, don't be me. Don't be ashamed to hold onto your pride. You got yourself on that horse hunny, and you deserve the ride. Hattie Wimer

I was not aware so many don't use Instagram. As I've been neglecting Facebook, I believe I owe you all a quick update. So.... Laga the Devil's garden mustang is finished with her groundwork, been put away for the winter. I will start her under saddle come spring, when she is of age. Started working with two more Devil's Garden Mustangs. Groundwork started but yet to get hands on them. Will work with them as weather allows.... Clients horse is in to be started under saddle. We are on week two and he is coming along beautifully. Dusted the saddle off for the first time since May. Picked the little bay mare back up and enjoying the saddle time on her! Even completed a few leathercraft projects

Hey there friends! I want to apologize for ignoring my Facebook account! So much has been happening. I have split D.Bar.D into two accounts (on Instagram). I now have D.Bar.D.Leather and D.Bar.D.Horsemanship. I still need to split the accounts on Facebook! But honestly, I'm kind of in a #cancelfacebook perdicacment If you rather not miss out on all the d.bar.d happenings, please look up the Instagram accounts. I'll get my Facebook dilemma situated....eventually!

What does soft feel mean to you? Soft in the face as well as the whole body, is the category soft feel falls under for me. In my program, before a horse is ever saddled- I like them to be soft and responsive throughout their entire body. Hips, shoulders, face, feet....I want to see that the horse knows the answer to what I ask. Clear communication. Again-no shades of grey. This creates confidence in your horse. Removing confusion on the ground prevents confusion under saddle. It's amazing how much can be accomplished in fewer rides, when the horse already knows what you are asking. Less confusion- leads to less irritation- leads to horse that is willing to please and do more for the rider.
