Potential Power Outages Coming for Ventura County: Charge your medical equipment and phone batteries now. Make sure you have enough nonperishable food to last a few days.Because when the hot winds start blowing, the power to your house may be shut off. The state is entering the height of fire season, with a dangerous mix of strong winds and temperatures approaching triple digits forecast across its valleys and foothills. For the first time this year, several Northern and Sout...hern California communities simultaneously are facing preemptive blackouts to reduce the fire risks. The Public Safety Power Shutoff Program (PSPS) could lead to multi-day power outages in many areas during periods of extremely hot, dry and/or windy weather. A PSPS outage will last as long as the potentially dangerous weather conditions exist, plus the amount of time it takes for power company workers to inspect and repair their equipment in the affected area(s). Residents need to be prepared to endure a power outage lasting 3-5 days. Actual frequency of PSPS events will depend on various weather and environmental factors, and the decision will be made with the most accurate assessment of real-time information and available situational awareness data available. What does this mean for Ventura County residents? Power outages impact the whole community and can make it difficult for people to meet their basic needs, as well as: Disrupt communications, water, air conditioning and transportation Close retail businesses, grocery stores, gas stations, ATMs, banks and other services Cause food spoilage and water contamination Prevent the use of medical devices such as oxygen concentrators and other devices Prevent the use of elevators, garage doors, electric gates and doors, etc. What can residents do to be prepared? Plan for any medical needs, like medications needing to be refrigerated or battery dependent assistive technology and medical devices. Build a Ready, Set, Go! emergency supply kit, including food, water, flashlights, a radio, fresh batteries, first aid supplies and cash. Register with Southern California Edison and PG&E to receive alerts. If you have concerns about the functionality of your alarm, card access, surveillance, or fire system during a power outage, please call and speak to your account representative.

You may have read that Verizon will no longer support 3G CDMA, or AT&T will no longer support 3G HSPA devices beyond Dec. 31, 2019. Verizon states that to avoid potential impacts and meet this CDMA decommission date, including, without limitation, loss of service, it is necessary that you continue to plan now and complete this critical technology migration before December 31, 2019. Should you have questions or concerns regarding this transition please feel free to contact ...the Electronic Security Manager, Melissa Dundas, by phone 805-389-6700 x214 or by email [email protected] . This upgrade presents the perfect opportunity to add an app to your system or to add additional features to your existing app. If you have questions regarding the available features, please let me know. We know transitioning cellular technology is not something anyone enjoys, but it is a fact of our current technological environment. That is why, in addition to providing you with a full suite of products that offer alarm communication and interactive services via network and Wi-Fi connectivity, we have gone to great lengths to make this transition as painless as possible. You can be assured that Dial, alongside our alarm manufacturers, are working tirelessly on your behalf to make any cellular transition as easy and with as little disruption as possible. As new information becomes available on the future plans of the other carriers, as it pertains to LTE expansion or other issues we will keep you notified. Thank you for placing your confidence in Dial Security. #homesecurity #DialSecurity #residentialalarms #commercialalarms #LTEUpgrade
