From Pam, DVC Chair & Director of Operations: Hello DVC friends, What an election! At the time of this writing, we are still waiting for the official results; as we expected, this will take time. While we await news of our victory, I would like to reflect on what we have all done together.... First of all, we rallied and adapted to a new virtual world of working together and reaching out to voters. Our ability to work side by side may be gone for a time, but that didn't stop our mighty volunteers! We created a new online community to take the place of our physical headquarters. Folks who initially didn't feel confident about calling voters from home using their own devices overcame their hesitation, and with our super tech stars and skilled trainers support they called hundreds of thousands of voters in California and swing states. That's what I call success! Our volunteers took postcard and letter writing to a whole new level this year. We had a powerhouse team of writing hosts who were tireless in their dedication to reaching voters with pen and paper. DVC writers collaborated with partner organizations and reached new heights, accomplishing milestone goals. That's what I call success! Textbanking also reached new heights thanks to outstanding leadership and detailed, timely information for texters. There were so many ways to text for different campaigns, some a little more challenging than others. But in the face of those challenges our texting warriorsalong with texters from other organizationswere so productive that some campaigns actually ended their texting before Election Day because they’d met all of their texting goals. That is what I call success! I want to thank all of you for all the blood, sweat, and tears you gave to the 2020 election. You are all heroes. We are the DVC and that is what I call success.
