Delta River Rats (Official)

RATS WIN!!! after a long weekend of exciting hockey, Rats take home the gold in style. A big congratulations to Johnathan A. for earning the MVP in the final game and also team voted MVP Sejel P. for an awesome performance holding a 1.5 GAA throughout the whole tournament.

Day #2 was the same as day #1. Another win and another tie. Kids playing well. Playoffs start 1:30pm against the Quakes. Go Rats

Day 1 was a success. First game saw the Rats taking it to the HC Raiders 8 - 2. Second game Rats controlling a 1- 0 lead for almost the entire game and controlling the play. Game became chippy and Rats taking a penalty gave up a late goal ending in a 1 - 1 tie. Keep up the hard work.

River Rat player review #4 goes to 10u Madison Naro. Madison started playing when she was 6 years old. She currently plays defense for our Rat team. Madison's favorite thing to do outside of hockey is being goofy.

Last weekend the Rats played in our first PIHL tournament of the season, and they did not disappoint. First up was our 10u. Only 2 players on this roster have real tournament experience. This is a new team with lots of energy that are eager to play. First game was a little lopsided losing 0-8 to Voodoo but they never gave up. After that the team started to play better, skate harder and moving the puck around. Next up was our 12u. Coming off our win at Nor Cal Cup we were expecting continued growth and improvement and they did not disappoint. Rats went 4-0 in the rounds and won the final in a nail bitting OT win against the Quakes. GO RATS!!!

This is long overdue but definitely needs to be addressed. This was back during the Thanksgiving tournament. Going into our final day, the team knew we could not lose any games or we would be eliminated. Our tandom goalie not only did their job, they did it in fashion and style. 2 round robin games, playoffs and championships these two posted a crazy 4-0 record, 2 shutouts, 0.935 save % and 0.5 GAA. Dang!!! Can you say MVP performance

River Rat player review #3 goes to 12u Marcus Colenzo. Marcus started playing hockey at the young age of six. Marcus joined the River Rats family 3 years ago. Marcus enjoys playing basketball in his spare time and sports a nice 3 - 3.5 GPA. Glad to have you with us bud!!!

12u Rats take 1st in the silver division. After a rough start on Saturday, kids regrouped going 4-0 on Sunday to take home the gold medal. Really proud of these kids. They all worked hard for this. Winning is so much sweeter when you have to work hard to achieve it.

River Rat flash back player #1 Let's start this with the captain #33 Dominic (Boogie) Hofferber. Boogie started playing at the early age of 5yo. Switching between goalie and defense for the first few years then going strictly defence. Boogie has won all sorts of awards at the local and national level, winning AAU, NARCH and PIHL finals. To this day he stops in at our practices to help train the next generation. Always been proud of you Boogs!!!

River Rat player review #2. Next up is Sara Bonavito, age 10. Started playing in 2016. Enjoys gymnastics, swimming, shopping and hanging out with friends. Sara plays on our 10u team and is our D girl in training. Keep it up...girl power

River Rat player review #1: First up is our current longest running River Rat player and Captain of our 12u team, 11 year old Johnathan Arruda. Jonathan has been playing for the Rats since he was 5 years old. Jonathan also plays travel ice for the Oakland Bears.

Nice turnout today at tryouts. Looks like the Rats will ne able to for 10u, 12u and 14u teams.

The Delta River Rats season ending party is finally in the books. Thank you to everyone for making it a fun and exciting event.
