Hundreds of consumers participated in the Back to School promotion presented by Kellogg’s, Scholastic, and Latino-focused supermarkets Cardenas Markets, Northgate Markets, Superior Grocers, El Super, and Vallarta Supermarkets. Throughout September and October, Back to School participants registered via text message for a chance to win free books for a school of their choice. The Back to School winners were presented at a special reception at Tamayo Restaurant in Los An...geles on October 29, where each of the chosen schools were awarded $6,000 in Scholastic books. Representatives from each recipient institution, the consumers who nominated them and representatives from the participating supermarkets attended the event. Kellogg’s, Scholastic, and the participating Hispanic retailers are honored to contribute to the nurturing of future generations of Southern Californians by awarding the Back to School books.
