Up next is a brew with Colombian panela. This sugarcane juice is cooked at the "trapiche" (sugar mill), and poured into molds which gives the solidified blocks their color and shape. This beer with its sweet, earthy, and caramel flavors, along with it's beautiful reddish brown color, loaded with a balanced selection of bitter and aromatic hops, is a homage to those dedicated people working the fields everywhere. Dear District 5 Supervisor @supervisorkathrynbarger , While we have appreciated all of the things you and your colleagues have done for the sake of Los Angeles County residents during this pandemic, we want to reach out to you for help. Our small and independently-owned businesses are on the verge of closures due to the change in the June county health order which explicitly prohibited us from the ability to partner with third-party food vendors in order to provide meals ...for outdoor dining at our brewery tap rooms. Some of our peers who are brewpubs with full kitchens and outdoor space have had the privilege of being classified in the same way as other restaurants, but two-thirds of the Los Angeles County Brewers Guild are unfortunately not as lucky. We are begging for the Board of Supervisors to reconsider a reclassification of our businesses to at the very least, align with the State of California’s health order. Los Angeles is the ONLY county in the entire state not allowing us to partner with food trucks and catering vendors. Our food partners are also suffering during this time as large summer events they rely on are also off the calendar. Furthermore, not allowing the approximately 70 brewery tap rooms to operate in this way is not deterring patrons from participating in this behavior. Many are merely driving to breweries in neighboring counties to get a small dose of craft beer community. All of our businesses have followed the guidelines set forth by the county, state, and CDC, and we are absolutely willing to adhere to additional requirements if that means we can collaborate with the county on best practices to mitigate the virus. The state ABC has even allowed us to file for extensions to our licensed premises to expand our outdoor social distancing, yet we are sitting on our hands unable to utilize the lifelines that the CDPH and ABC have given to businesses in other counties outside of L.A. We implore you to please reconsider. Respectfully, @delpueblobeer . #SaveLABrewers #LABEER #independentbeer #smallbiz #lacounty @ Pasadena, California See more

As of today, Los Angeles County is the ONLY county where brewery tap rooms are not allowed to partner with third-party food vendors to provide meals for outdoor on-site dining. Our local businesses are bleeding more and more every day without relief through on-site dining, and we need our Board of Supervisors to make the change and help our struggling industry. More than two-thirds of @labrewers membership are hanging on by a thread and we risk seeing dozens of local breweries closing should we not get this small life-preserver to temporarily keep us going. Help us spread the word & consider contacting or tagging your local L.A. County Board of Supervisor and tell them that you want them to #SaveLABrewers! @ Pasadena, California
