The California Legislative Analyst's Office report finds that California's Physician Supervision Law does not increase safety of Nurse-Midwifery practice or imp...rove outcomes of CNM clients and significantly decreases Californians' access to the proven safe care provided by Nurse-Midwives. The report is in agreement with the opinion of the Federal Trade Commission report of 2014 that finds physician oversight of Nurse-Midwives impedes access to and increases costs of maternal health care.
