We are pleased to sponsor the free support group titled Wednesday Noon Community PTSD Topic Discussion Support Group. The purpose of this group is to provide support for those suffering from and moving through the after effects of trauma. This is not a therapy group. The format of the group includes a reading related to trauma recovery, three minutes of writing or reflecting on your personal experience with the topic and two minutes of writing or reflecting on solution and ...then sharing from participants on that topic. Each member is welcome to share for three minutes on the topic with a two minute solution focus wrap up and then the meeting will end with writing/reflection on what was learned from the shares to take into your week ahead. The time frame for sharing is subject to change based on number of participants to give as many people as possible a chance to share. Similar to the 12 step format, there will be no cross talk or advice giving. It is simply an opportunity to reflect on and hear about experiences and solution on a particular topic related to trauma recovery. It is a drop-in group so no commitment is required, however we will need contact information from each participant and acknowledgement of safety each week to attend. Look forward to moving forward together! If you are interested in the Trauma or General PHP or IOP program we are happy to provide information. Please call 310 626-9337.

"When I was in school, I was bullied. I felt bad for myself. I decided however, that I needed to love who I am and realize and appreciate my many blessings. Having experienced bullying, I can say with certainty that bullying is wrong. No one deserves to be bullied. Words can hurt and bullying can leave a lasting impact," says Herschel Walker, former NFL player, The Heisman Trophy winner and mental health advocate. "Let’s work together to make sure our children know that they are not to blame. They deserve to be treated with respect, they deserve to feel safe. And, as adults, we will work to make any bullying stop." Learn more how parents and adults can help prevent bullying at bit.ly//ParentsandBullying.
