Who is your superhero?? The man behind the mask is this households superhero and our children absolutely adore him. When planning my daughters Spider-Man (as per my then 4 year olds request) birthday bash we thought who could possibly be better to act as spider man than our daughters real life superhero; daddy! Meet my heart snatcher. He’s been on earth for only a year now but as corny as it sounds I feel like he’s been with me forever. He’s an old soul this one, he looks at you with those big brown eyes of his and you almost feel like he understands... My guy. Full of surprises, and has truly changed my life. My house now contains just as much cars and balls as it does dolls and tea sets. He has to go outside every day, he just must, and if you go out the door without him ohhhh he ...will protest with every little molecule in his 2ft frame. He LOVES apples, eats them uncut unpeeled and with so much savor it makes you crave them. He has been breastfeeding the longest (16 months almost) and that’s twice as much as his sisters breastfed. Sometimes I feel as though he wants the breast more to snuggle up to mama than anything else. And yes, he most definitely is a mamas boy. Won’t give up my arms for anyone or anything else. Thus my life literally revolves around his schedule. I barely have time for anything, it’s a rarity if I could even brush my hair! And sleep? Hah! Is sleep even real? I’m beginning to think sleep is a mythological creature and I think I’ll see a unicorn before I get reintroduced to sleep. But would I change anything? No. I’ll take sleepless nights for the rest of my life for this 8 toothed, front gap teeth goofy smiled face. Saw a Minnie Mouse shirt earlier and it took me back to one of my very first birthday parties I had styled and coordinated for a clients daughter. Ahhh the nostalgia... I remember taking my time and perfecting all the little details I had envisioned for them all whilst being in school for my BA in psychology and juggling 2 kids under 3! I look back at these pictures and they take me back to these times...I don’t just remember the work, the decorations I handmade or the mess...es I’d stay awake cleaning up..I remember having only one vision at the time: completing this task. And getting slightly frustrated when I would get interrupted. It’s nice to be driven and motivated but I wish I was living in the moment too. I remember working hours on end for a straight week on this party- that’s all I remember though . I don’t remember spending quality time with them that week, I don’t recall having conversations with my husband, all I remember is being super focused on finishing the details and making sure this party goes smoothly. Which it did. It always does. This year I want to worry less, and live more in the moment.
