Defensive Shooting Club (DSC)

We (Ted and Ky) will be holding another 2 Day Intro To Long Range class on October 3-4 in Hollister. Cost is $800 and is limited to 6 spots (already down to 4). If you are interested, you can contact me at [email protected] . We will be covering a lot of material, from ballistics, scope and rifle setup, wind calling, spotting and positional shooting. We will ultimately be shooting to 1000 yards, and time permitting out to a mile.

Quick reminder/bump, I (Ted) have 2 spots left for our 2 Day Intro to Long Range class coming up next weekend (June 27/28) at our private range in Hollister. If anyone is interested, course covers, among other things, ballistics, rifle/optics set up, data collection, ballistics computer/app use, wind reading and more. Range goes out to 1080 yards, and depending on class pace, we may even be able to let people try to 1 mile.

Hi all. As you may have heard, metcalf is reopening 6/15; although they are opening for individuals only on a reservation basis. Group activities are not allowed. Therefore DSC will continue to be on hiatus until we hear different from the range. I hope you all are staying healthy and safe. See you when the dust clears.

We have a few spots opened up for the Long Range Carbine on June 21 if anyone else wants to get in. Please shoot me an email to [email protected] , first come first serve.

I know a lot of you are in serious withdrawal, so here is what we know about getting back to it at Metcalf. We have submitted a "plan" on how to deal with social distancing while at the range, and are waiting for approval of said plan. As we know more, we will keep you all updated. In the interim, would any of you be interested in a 1 day (8 hr) Long Range Carbine / Rifle class? This would be held at a private range in Hollister (about a 40 min drive from Metcalf), would be ...about 2-3 hours of lecture covering ballistics, rifle setup, fundamentals, etc, and the rest of the day would be range time, targets out to 1000 yards. Cost would be approximately $150-$175 per person. If interested, post up, and we will set a date, the class would be limited to about 10 people. We will be doing a home weight vest (Tac Games) workout Saturday at 11 via Instagram, follow Mr_Diligence if you want to get in on the workout, still operating as if the games are gonna happen in May.

Sunday we shoot, pistols, skills, be there

There will be a Tac Games workout this coming Saturday at 11am back at Dillegence Athletics in San Jose. This Saturday we will be working on rope climbs , there WILL be rope climbs at the games, so this will be a great class to attend if you don't have rope climb skills yet. We will be back to regular schedule for the 4th Saturday as well, and for March , 2nd and 4th Saturday's.
