Sadly received the announcement that the Art Deco Society of California had to cancel their September 2020 Gatsby Summer Afternoon but of course it was the right thing to do. After traveling the world and having highlights of going to the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival, the 1960s Human Be-in in Golden Gate Park, and the Ascot Races in England, the Gatsby Summer Afternoon is still in my Top 5 of favorite events that I've been able to attend. Where else could you possibly have 3 generations of your whole family with you (including your 7 and 10 year old grandsons)? It must be good because even though they are teenage boys they still want to come every year. My youngest grandson Carlo Delezene even joined me as a fashion judge for years.
