It outlines the basic right a patent gives its owner: the right to exclude others from using your invention. It's regularly assumed that a patent gives the right to build the invention, but that's not true. The video explains why.

I haven't posted anything in a while, but this is the fourth video created for my current job at Fish IP Law. The series is titled FishFAQs because they are video answers to frequently asked questions. This one covers a principle of writing patents- words are limitations. The basic idea is- the more you write and describe, the narrower the concept becomes. Every word further limits what you are claiming in the... well... just watch the video.
