My dear students and friends, There is no easy way to say this. After 10 months of fighting to survive as a professional artists in the Bay Area, including so many applications for assistance, community fundraising efforts, online lessons, etc., my partner Stefan and I have made the difficult decision to relocate to Austin, TX. While I am saddened beyond words to leave my dance home of the last 17 years, I intend to be back regularly! When dance studios here can re-open, I pl...an to visit once a month or so to teach private lessons and workshops and of course get out and enjoy some of the best social dancing in the world! Meanwhile, I will continue offering Zoom lessons from Austin for anyone who wants to continue their training at home. For my subscribed students, I have provided additional details about my transition to Austin via email. Please check your inbox (or spam folder). Thank you for everything! My Wednesday Salsa & Bachata Shines classes will temporarily be conducted online only, until such time as the State moves San Mateo County out of the Purple Tier (the most restrictive tier in the State’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy). Under the Purple Tier, the dance studios are prohibited from holding indoor adult classes. We will resume in person classes as soon as the State’s rules allow. Our makeup Outdoor Salsa Class scheduled for 6:15PM tonight has been CANCELLED due to local air quality. AQI is currently clocking over 200 in San Mateo County. Experts advise: Health effects will be immediately felt by sensitive groups and should avoid outdoor activity. Healthy individuals are likely to experience difficulty breathing and throat irritation; consider staying indoors and rescheduling outdoor activities. We hope this improves by our regularly scheduled class time, Wednesday 6:15PM next week. Meanwhile, stay inside as much as possible and take care of yourselves!
