It’s 106 degree here and looks like we’re in for a few hot August nights. So I thought I’d throw in a #FBF of some of our hottest client work for a @luciamdesigns editorial campaign featuring the always gorgeous @talitatrygsland_ and snapped by the uber talented @kobramaier. We had a really tight budget for this campaign shot in L.A., so I wore several hats: creative director, stylist, makeup artist, and water spritzer technician (always the best job). The jewelry line is ...very boho elegant with lots of natural gemstones and gold so I envisioned capturing a very sexy 70’s vibe in an era when women were always golden and glistening. And thanks to our incredible crew, I think we hit the mark. And for the win, all collaborators involved are a #womenownedbusiness. Have you read Atomic Habits by James Clear? This is my current audiobook and it’s full of nuggets. I’m always fascinated by human behavior and this book deep dives into how we create habits and how our habits mold our identity. This quote by Carl Jung that Clear talks about really resonated with me. It means that we all have formed habits that we do unconsciously and if we become conscious of them, we have the power to change them, create healthy habits, powerful habits than... define us. Thus, you have control over your fate, your path. You have a choice. A habit is what you do with consistency without consciously thinking about it. It becomes your daily routine, a learned behavior for a specific result. Are your current habits helping you or hindering you? Are you aware of the things you do out of habit? I’ve been really out of routine in the last few months with everything going on. I’ve taken a vacation which is great, but I feel like my regular structure is out of wack. So it feels like the perfect time to restructure and improve my habits. Find my groove. Are you still feeling out of sorts or have you adapted quickly? I am aware that I have been acting like I’m in a holding pattern, a sort of social purgatory until this pandemic blows over. Doesn’t seem like that is happening anytime soon, so it’s time to evolve and adjust for me. The notion of changing destructive habits and creating productive habits is very inspiring to me and hopefully you.
