Happy Valentines Day to you, our members, who make your school, our communities and state a better place for all children and families.
I can’t even begin to imagine what our teenagers are going through because I’m not their age with their concerns and their thoughts. However, I feel we need to do something to help them during this difficult time. I found this and a few other numbers. Even if your teenager says they are fine share this with them. They may not be fine and not know how to call for help. MORE RESOURCES Suicide Prevention Line (24/7) Phone: 877-727-4747 -OR- 800-784-2433... Dear AUHSD Community, On Tuesday, County Health Officer Dr. Clayton Chau announced that all Orange County residents age 65 and older are now eligible to receive... the COVID-19 vaccine. With the county shifting from Phase 1A to Phase 1B, OC residents are encouraged to register through a testing management app called Othena to find out when they’re eligible for the vaccine. The HCA also noted Tuesday that vaccine distribution at the new Disneyland Resort Super POD is by appointment only. Individuals without appointments, even if they are within an eligible group, are urged not to come to the Disneyland Resort Super POD vaccination site without an appointment. Overwhelming the POD (point of distribution) system will make it even more challenging to dispense the limited supply of vaccine currently available. As the vaccine becomes more plentiful, additional appointments will become available, and all eligible individuals will receive vaccine. The County’s three existing POD sites were overwhelmed by individuals without appointments today, effectively shutting down the vaccination sites. It is critical for people to understand that appointment slots are available based on vaccine availability. Showing up without an appointment stresses the system and depletes scarce resources. The OC Health Care Agency knows the public is anxious to receive the vaccine and is working diligently to receive additional supplies. Appointments will be available as soon as the vaccine supply exists to meet that demand. All residents are encouraged to register to be notified when the County of Orange’s vaccine and testing management app, Othena, has appointments available and is ready for their use by visiting https://othena.com/individuals.php and filling out the online form. To learn more about the County’s Phased Distribution plan, please visit: www.COVIDVaccineFacts.com.

Hello Centurions, We had another successful asynchronous school day. I'm excited to hear that most of our students were able to connect with all of their teach...ers in one way or another. Here is the plan for tomorrow: Friday, August 14th Students will meet synchronously with all of their classes through the Schoology platform. They should login to Schoology at the beginning of their scheduled classes as indicated in the virtual bell schedule. In the case of any technical difficulty, please check your student email continuously throughout the day for alternate plans. Thanks again for your flexibility and support. We are looking forward to our first synchronous school day of the year. Have a great evening, Dr. Hodgson #cyphype #auhsd #unlimitedyou
As many of you know we have been experiencing technical issues with Schoology, our online learning platform software provider. We have been working day and nig...ht to correct the issues. Unfortunately, the issue will not be resolved by the start of school tomorrow. Based on this information, all students will receive an email from their 2nd period teacher with a link to a "Google Meets" prior to the beginning of class at 9:25 am on Wednesday morning. We ask that all students log on to the link at 9:25 am. Your second period teacher will be waiting to greet you, and provide an opening day activity, and more information. Students will only check in with their second period teacher tomorrow. Thursday will also be an asynchronous day, following the same procedures as on Wednesday. We ask for your continued patience during this time and we will do everything in our control to remedy the situation as quickly as possible. As a reminder we will be distributing breakfast & lunch starting tomorrow and every day from 11:00 - 1:00 in the main parking lot. It is important that students have their student IDs ready to be scanned. If you do not have your ID card at this time, please print and/or take a picture of the barcode at the bottom of your student schedule that was emailed to you. Please continue to check your emails and our social media for updates. Thank you for your patience and support, Dr. Hodgson
Stores are open til the 16th!!
Hope everybody has a fabulous first day of school tomorrow!! At least parking and traffic won’t be a problem!
